Black Sabbath is the definitive heavy metal band. Other metal bands, whether it's Metallica or The Sword, wouldn't exist if it weren't for Black Sabbath, and specifically, Paranoid. This album defined the term "Doom Metal" and changed music forever. Every track except the title one features slow, heavy guitars and intense drums that result in a dark, ominous sound. On top of the instruments, the lyrics are deep and meaningful, and there's nothing like Ozzy's voice. I don't care what anyone says, Dio dumbed down their music and Black Sabbath is not Black Sabbath without Ozzy Osbourne. On a side note, check out Rat Salad. It's probably one of the only songs you haven't heard on this album, and it is the best instrumental track ever.
