It Finally Came

Well today my 360 came back from Microsoft. I was very suprised that it took that short of time to arrive. I got a replacement 360, but I don't think I got the Falcon chipset though. There is no HDMI port so I'll have to find another way to see if I got the new chipset.

The Coffin Has Came

Well today the UPS guy brought me my coffin for my Xbox 360. I didn't know there was so much stuff that you had to do to ship it. They give you everything that you need though. Special pressurized tape, special styrofoam, and the works. Tomorrow I will be shipping it out to Microsoft to get it fixed. I kinda hope I get a new system so I can get the new chipset. This whole ordeal has been horrible and I hope I don't have to go through with it again.

Crysis

Well today I bought Crysis and... it's not that great. For one thing I was supposed to be able to run this on high and I can't. It still looks pretty good on medium though. Graphics aside, the gameplay leaves me very empty. It's just very unimpressive and it's basically Far Cry... but with a fancy suit. I have no clue how this game got a 9.5 on here... but that is there opinion. It's still a good game... just nothing special. I'm pretty sure I can't return this game either. Damn I should've got S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Worst. Christmas. Ever.

Well this Christmas pretty much blew. Sure I got my computer... but I paid for half of it. I also got the best present ever... THE **** RED RING OF DEATH. I'm about to put in GH3 and i get red ringed. Just Peachy. So now I have to wait weeks for something that shouldn't be going on in the first place. Game wise though, I got COD4 and The Orange Box. I got some cash so I'm gonna buy STALKER and maybe Crysis.

My GOTY pick

Well today I got the game that I surely believe should win Game of the Year. That game is Call of Duty 4. I got this game as a gift from one of my friends for the PC and it is absolutely amazing. Just the way the game immerses you into the game is amazing. Oh... and the graphics and gameplay are also some of the best I have seen this year. I highly suggest this game to anyone who has a good enough computer (or a 360 or PS3).

New games on my computer

Well they still aren't no Crysis but some are still demanding. Supreme Commander ran perfectly at 1280x800 with 4x AA, UT2004 ran awesome (of course), Company of Heroes had 113 average fps with 4x AA on 1280x800, and Quake 4 ran very smoothly on Ultra High. Well there ya go. Pretty sweet. I wish I had FRAPS though so I could get fps' for the rest of my games. Next step: Crysis and Bioshock (when I actually get them).

My new computer!

Yeah here's the specs on my new computer:

XFX GeForce 8800gt 256mb

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (srtest.com says its rated at 7.80ghz)

G.Skill 2GB DDR2800 memory

Some random Biostar motherboard

200GB Hard Drive

Yeah thats basically it. I haven't got any new games except for Lost Planet. This came with my graphics card. I can't run it because my internet is too slow for Steam to run all the updates and stuff. Oh well... it still runs F.E.A.R., Far Cry, and AOEIII perfectly.

Another situation about my internet...

Well I just figured out a couple hours ago that Charter was proving cable internet nearby where I live. I was very excited and thinking that I could have Xbox Live by the time Halo 3 comes out. So I go to the Charter website and type my address into the availability form. It turns out that I cant get it. One of my friends types in his address and he is able to get it though. The is really dumb because HE LIVES A BASEBALL THROW AWAY FROM ME! The only reason I probably can't get cable at this moment is because of what road I live on. I just hope that we will be able to pay Charter to have them bury a cable across our field so that we can get it. Now I know that probably nobody will read this but if you could... please tell me if Charter is any good for Xbox Live. And thanks in advance if you do tell me.

Things I'm looking for at E3

Well E3 really seemed to sneak up on me. Last thing I knew it was like a month away. Now it's only five days away. Here is just a little list of things I would like to see at E3.

Sony

1. Killzone 2 gameplay footage. I just gotta see if it lives up to the infamous trailer from E3 05.

2. More info about MGS4. Now we all that this game is totally gonna be awesome... but I would just like to know more about it.

3. Afrika. What the hell happened to this game. It seemed to just drop off the radar.

4. More games on PSN network. They seemed to fall behin XBLA in terms of games. It needs more games. And no... I dont want anymore damn sudoku.

5. Final Fantasy XIII. Another one of those "Lets see if it looks as good as the trailer" games.

6. Warhawk. I just want more info.

Microsoft

1. Halo 3 campaign information. Alright we know all we need to know about multiplayer. Now just give some info about the single player.

2. Banjo Threeie. I was a fan of the original on the N64 and I hope to see more info (and maybe some gameplay footage).

3. Mass Effect. This game looks to be freaking amazing. And i want to see more.

4. Too Human. Looks to be a good game.

5. Fable 2. The first one was great and the power of the Xbox 360 will make the sequel the game Peter Molyneux envisioned.

Nintendo

1. Super Smash Bros Brawl. I love the Super Smash Bros series and this one looks to be the best yet. Too bad it won't be playable.

2. Metroid Prime 3. Looks to be an awesome game. I know Metroid Primes focus isn't multiplayer but I hoped to see online multiplayer in this. Still looks to be a must-own.

3. More info on WiiWare. We dont know enough info to know if it can compete with XBLA. The least they could have done is announced a couple games when they announced this. I hope to see some fun indie type games for WiiWare.

4. Animal Crossing for the Wii. I love Animal Crossin: WW for some weird reason. I know if they made one for the Wii it would be just as addicting.

5. No More Heroes. Suda51 does a great job making these type of games as we know with Killer7. This game will be better with its more in-depth gameplay.

6. Overall, just... more games for the Wii. The truth is... the Wii just doesnt seem to have enough games coming out. Or at least not anything exciting.

7. More awesome games on the DS. They don't need another redesign for the DS. They just need to keep doing what they are doing ... and thats dominate the handheld market.

PC

1. Crysis. This game is going to be the best looking game for quite some time. Too bad my computer wont run it.

2. Starcraft II. The first one was amazing... this one will be too.

Multiplatform stuff

1. Army of two. ever since I saw the trailer the first thing I thought of was how fun this would be on Co-op.

2. Resindent Evil 5. It seems like forever since the trailer was released... and it's about time for another.

3. Call of Duty 4. this game will be a giant step up from the dissapointing Call of Duty 3.

4. Assassins Creed. I would like to see more gameplay footage.

5. Fallout 3. Bethesda will do a great job with this game. Hopefully it's a lot like Oblivion.

6. GTA4. This probably wont be at E3. But I would still like to see it.

7. Tom Clancy's EndWar. This game looks to be another awesome game from Ubisoft.

Wow... that was a lot. But i'm expecting a lot from this year's E3.

A big problem that can't be fixed.

My big problem that I have is that where I live... there is no option for cable/DSL. Probably not a lot of people on this website have the same problem as me. It seems that a majority of you use Xbox Live or PSN. My household uses satellite internet... which isn't compatible with Xbox Live. I have three complaints with satellite internet:

1) I can't have Xbox Live. I have a lot of games that would be really fun on Live (Rainbow Six Vegas, Halo 2, etc.) but I am forced to play the single player campaign because I live with only my parents pretty much the whole time. I also cant play online games on my PC.

2) Download speeds SUCK!!! I recently built a gaming PC and I was hoping to download some demos before i bought them... oh was I wrong. The download time for a demo like Battlefield 2 is like 5 hours or something. And now that file sizes are getting bigger for downloads (Isn't DiRT like 800MBs?) that just means more download time. One time we went to a download speed test website (toast.net i think) and tested the download speed. We were below 28kb dial-up speed. My family don't pay like $50 a month for that

Oh speaking of downloads... here's complaint number 3) There is a limit on what you can download. It seems if you download too much... they make your internet not work for the day or longer. THIS IS FREAKING FASCIST!

Now pretty much our only option is to wait for cable/DSL companies to pull their heads out of their asses and bring cable/DSL out to my area. Or we could also pay a T1 company to send out an unmetered T1 line. This would be awesome to play online games with and would really help with my mom's business. The only downside is that it is $350 a month. There is no way that we could pay that. Unless we have like six other people help pay for it in our area.

Well I guess that I'm just gonna have to suffer through satellite internet. But maybe not for long... I hope to see you guys on Live in the near future.
