Has this been confirmed though (with link)? AFAIK Harmonix has said that they want it to work, but it's up to the new makers of the GH3 guitar. And, I believe that the Rock Band guitar is Bluetooth (is that right?) and the GH3 one is a USB-dongle-goblin wireless type. Will the PS3 be able to read the two different types of controllers as players 1 and 2 for the game? I'm still trying to decide, and this would be an important part of the decision.

What really struck me was that sales chart. According to their own admission, they have only sold 5.6 M 360s in America. Seriously? That's even considerably less than VGChartz - which only has worldwide 360 sales at just over 10 million. If that is true, not only does that completely destroy their assertion that they shipped 11.6 M worldwide (or they did and there's like 3 million unsold somewhere), but that means that they are in some serious trouble with the Wii and the PS3 price cut.

I'm guessing that they concentrated on this year's stuff because the 360 has really been losing ground to the Wii of late, and they're more concerned about having a big holiday this year as opposed to what's going to hit in '08. The PS3 price drop has also got to be of some concern if they're not intending on matching it.

I'll admit though that it does suck that a $249 (U.S.) console is $289 in Canada with the dollar almost being at par. It's the same thing with the PS3 ($600 vs. $700). Oh well, at least we're not getting as shafted as the Europeans and Aussies.

That's not a $50 increase. Even on launch day it was $279. The $249 price is in the U.S. Plus you can't count taxes as part of the price. At least you live in Alberta so you don't have any provincial taxes on top of that.

I'm a big FF fan, and a classic JRPG form would be an interesting step for the franchise, although I'm not sure that it could keep that "Zelda mystique". As for a number of suggestions here (first-person, more like Oblivion, darker and grittier, etc.), it simply isn't going to happen. The reason Ninty has said that things have to change is because the Zelda games are dying in Japan. They tried to make TP more "Western" read: darker and more realistic, and it did very poorly in Japan (comparatively speaking). If they are going to revamp the series to restore its popularity in Japan, I think a JRPG is FAR more likely than the above ideas. A Kingdom Heartsy kind of thing might work - I don't know. Miyimoto has said he thinks that maybe people don't want to play epic games like they used to - a sentiment that certainly has me worried.

I have the DS version. Check out the reviews, they talk about the differences (mostly just the map on the other screen IIRC). It's not bad. A decent Metroid ripoff. The only problem is the isometric perspective. It makes making some of the jumps WAY harder than they should be (especially when you're being chased by the cloud monsters - don't ask). As a whole, I'd say it's worth the $15.
