There has been a lot of talk about how playing rockband 3's pro mode especially on guitar transfers over to real life guitar shredding ability. Well I've done my research and there are a lot of people who say the plastic mad catz version feels not like a real guitar but to stop this disclaimer there is a actual squier guitar arriving early 2011 with strings and everything. It is a real guitar just modded by harmonix to be able to be played on rockband. Hey if you ask me ok like 300$ which it will prob. be is totally worth it in my eyes if your trying to learn real guitar figure how much it would cost in lessons or books ect to learn it when you would still need to buy the guitar anyway.
