@illegalChronic Except that you are forgetting that there are key design differences in LoL and Dota 2. While they may be of the same type, they cater to different audiences.

When it comes to having more forgiving casual play, LoL will be where people go.

If you want hardcore skill based game where its just about possible to carry it by yourself if you do well enough, you'll go to DotA 2.

I personally appreciate both gametypes. It really depends on what mood I'm in.

Also, if you are a professional gamer, you'll be playing LoL as there are more money rewards and sponsors for the game. The current DotA 2 sponsors keep pulling out because its DotA 2 simply isn't worth it right now to them. If Valve is willing to put 10 million in prizes off the bat, maybe the competitive scene will take off. But right now, there's just a once a year tournament (The International, worth a million) for DotA 2 and that's really hurting the scene.

@stan_boyd That's a sentiment I can get behind. I agree that developers should not be allowed to bandaid fix things in a later patch. In fact, the recent letdown of ME3's ending + DA2's disappointment as a game, and TOR (yes I was a huge Bioware fan) means that even if I got the ending that I would want most...I will NOT be purchasing Dragon Age 3. Bioware's already lost a fan in me, but since I don't have to pay a dime to get some better closure to hours of gameplay I've spent previously, I do want it.

@ocsgabe Again, its because we've read it once. Hell, I've read two previous gamespot articles saying the same thing. There is no need for a third. If a regular newsource kept posting the same opinion piece over and over, they would be under a lot more scrutiny than Gamespot is now.

@stan_boyd Then they wrote the article once, they don't need to write it every week. They are getting increasingly more insulting towards the consumer base as well. If I wrote how Gamespot is hurting journalistic integrity once, it would be my opinion. If I had to mention it constantly, I'm just pandering for a response / trying to stir the pot. I would be just trying to cause trouble, as Brendan here is now.

Also, if they don't have a single writer that agrees, that would make them a huge minority. Outside of random internet comment sections, I've never met or personally talked to anyone who is agaisnt the ending change.

@ocsgabe Because we've heard his opinion before and he simply won't shut up. He just has to keep taking jabs at the people who don't see it his way. So he's getting jabbed back.

@stan_boyd Its okay to not agree, its not okay to flat out insult the audience, as both writers have done. This is also a repeat article (the third one I believe) with little to no balance as to the other side of the issue. So of course you (as someone who's spent the last 13 hours commenting on everyone else's comments, trying to force your opinion on everyone else) love this sort of writing. If they had a single article showing the other side (for example, GamerRevolution had 2 articles back to back aruging both sides) then maybe they wouldn't seem so bad.

@stan_boyd @GiantsFan2290

You can also preview songs before you buy them. Hell, you can listen to entire albums on Grooveshark for free before ever spending a cent. If I played ME3 before I had to buy it, I wouldn't have paid a cent.

Grats on your terrible analogy though.

PS: If you are paying 20 bucks for an album, you are getting majorly ripped off.

Brendan Sinclair just needs to stop writing. We should ship him away with Laura Parker and get people who respect the Gamespot audience, instead of going against the vast majority of them and just try to stir the pot.

Honestly, these writers need to realize the age old lesson that almost every parent teaches. Sometimes its best to say nothing at all. ((Because we don't want to hear, or read what you have to say))

This is news?

Valve announced this weeks ago officially to joinDotA caster TobiWan. It was posted on Joindota.com. You can look there if you think I'm lying.

Laura Parker, disappoints again.
