Deathtrap: That is correct if there were some sort of marketing ploy invovled. However, there was not. At the beginning of this console generation, Sony had a massive lead over microsoft. Sony screwed the pooch and made a super expensive machine with very few good exclusives. Microsoft took the lead without any marketing tricks coming from behind, as most people then were playing Sony systems and games pre-this generation.

Even now at PS3s reduced price, the Xbox is still outselling it when the price difference isn't that much anymore. The only way the properties of "Supply and Demand" apply to what you just said is if the PS3 have low supply and they get to charge more because the demand is high. However, there are plenty of PS3s at every store I go to. So supply isn't low....its selling less than the 360 so the demand is also low. Supply and Demand doesn't come into the equation of pricing. The PS3 is affordable now, and I'll likely get it for a fancy blu-ray player in which I can update its firmware. However, when I needed a gaming machine, I went with a 360, just like several most of the rest of America.

Yes. Fararri sells overpriced sports cars. Honda Civic sells lower priced, more efficent cars that the average person wants. Proves my point better than my original analogy.

Wolfyrabbit: If you are talking about first week sales, I agree. However, both of these consoles have been out for years and years. That does say something. That's like saying "Just because the The Hottie and the Nottie movie sold 10 million less copies than The Hangover doesn't mean that The Hangover is better". Yes it does. Its how we measure success in the real world.

And the xbox one will sell more because? Oh right. Its better. It also plays all the old xbox games without having to spend $1000 on a super rare version of the console. Also, PS3 coding was purposely made difficult by Sony to make PS3 games seem to evolve more over time because it would take longer to learn. So yes, most things are going to be ports until Sony learns to get its head out of its ass. Hardware wise the Xbox 360 has a better GPU, means you'll get marginally better graphics, as all of these tests are proving. However, the PS3 has a better CPU, which means more games should run smoothly when all the crap is hitting the fan in the middle of gameplay. Doing these tests means little to nothing for either console. The Xbox has an advantage in a screenshot contest due to having that better GPU. The easiest way to see what's better. Look at the sales numbers. The best way a person can vote is to spend money and its pretty clear who's winning.
