As you all may know where I live is often hit by many tropical storms and especially hurricanes. As I live on the farthest island out of the carribean and a very small island at that. Now normally there are only a few tropical storms and maybe one or even two smaller hurricanes. However this year is different.

Due to global warming and excelled weather patterns each year is getting even worse then the previous with horrible weather and rapidly climbing heat. So far this year we have been hit with every major storm system and the worst one of all was hannah. It came through here like a bat out of hell, flooding the streets, high waves and knocking out power all across the island majorly affecting 8 of the larger cities here on the island. Luckily I live up in the mountains. However although you will survive the rain and flooding you are at high risk for lightning.

As the hurricane was passing there was a six hour period where it was just striking with furious lightning and thunder every moment even so close that you could see the residue from your window with the electrical flames.

It did infact knock out power but also affected so much of the agricultural habitat that there are was so much work to do after its two day onslaught. Then just several days later ike came through. That went by relatively fast. However once again there was flooding. Luckily here we build our homes out of solid cement and steel pipe so unless God wants our house gone. Its solid and isnt going anywhere. However other islands and especially cuba, and jamaica were not so lucky as they are pretty much completely under water to the rooftops of there houses.

Everyone is talking about New Orleans. The carribean has been utterly devastated and my family and I are extremely lucky.
