I found out what militia you'll fight with. Here they are:

U.S. Army

U.S. Marines

British SAS Special Forces

Russian Red Army

Chinese Special Forces

Well, that's it. Bye

game_overdose54

Hopefully there will be more factions to the game, no offense to anyone but the list seems to be so generic. I mean how many games can you name off the top of your head that includes either the US Army, Russian Army or SAS? (You can name dozens).

I just wish there was more variety. Maybe play as a resistance member or instead of the SAS play as a Royal Marine, maybe add the Modern day French or German Army, maybe even Canada or Scandinavian nations?

After seeing the trailer I think it is a safe bet to put Middle Eastern Insurgents on to the list of factions, the game does look amazing just wish there was more variety and factions in the game.

Well good luck. One thing I have to say about the service...it was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life, but it was also one of the best thing I had ever done in my life.m1rock

I agree, it's been one ride that I'll never forget. You'll meet alot of interesting people and have friends that will last a life time. It will be the best time of your life.

Civilians are the major addition to a game. Most towns had there civilians evacuated but I hate being in urban combat and not seeing a single person (civilian), in the whole town. Not even any signs of civilians being there. It's like it's TOTALLY abandoned. WWIIWarrior

That would be scary,Walking into a town, and the only thing you hear is the howling wind and creaking doors.

Ah that brings up another point...add civilians to a WWII game. That could add a whole new angle to the game. They did something like that in a Modern FPS called "First to Fight" if it was more in depth it could really add to a war game.m1rock

I think BIA HH is adding civilians to the game, but it would be a great idea.

As for limbs that is fine in a war game but the developer would have to watch the amount of gore that they want to portray. Remember Real life has a way of mimmicking video games.

They mostly play like a simulator. You have to manage your crew, make sure your there to incercept ur target in tim, be at the exact right deph to fire torpedos and distance. know how to avoud depth charges....stuff like that. Like a flight simulator but in the water :)m1rock

Diffenantly invest in Silent Hunter 3 and 4, best two Sub sims I have ever played. Although it is boring to manage your crew and plot your course, it's an absolute rush when you run into an enemy convoy of merchant ships or enemy flotilla, it diffenantly puts you on your toes.

2. Would you feel like giving Aid to the guy who jus blew ur friends head off?

EarnedInBlood

ROE's state that once an enemy soldier is wounded he/she is no longer a combatant therefore YOU are supposed to treat them under the Geneva Convention. It doesn't matter if that person blew your brain'f off. (That rule has been drilled into me so many times, especially during the last FTX I went on this past weekend).

And another point of having games mimmick or include actions in which your allowed to "end another's persons misery". Even though it is a military game and even though it has happended in the past, it's more about ethics and morals.(edit: It's more complicated than I thought, I can't really explain it well enough).

[QUOTE="EarnedInBlood"]is Band of Brother directly linked to Brothers in Arms? GamingBoy2009
No, Brothers in arms follows the 101st Airborne while Band of Brothers followed mostly the 82nd airborne. The characters in Brothers in Arms are totally different from the ones in Band of Brothers.

Actually both titles are based on the 101st Airborne.

BOB is based on the book by the same name by Stephen Ambrose and follows:

Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR, 101st AB

Brothers in Arms is based on true real life stories from multiple sources and focuses on

Fox Company, 3rd Battalion, 502nd PIR, 101 AB.

The Characters in BIA are a collobration of various real life personalities who served in the 502nd.

As for a game based on BOB, Why not?. It would be a great idea if implemented I mean take a look at MOH AB or even BIA. THe only thing holding back the idea is getting copy right laws into play and if the real life soldiers would consent to a video game where their actions are portrayed in a virtual reality setting.

It also depends on what most people know...Icarus405

I agree, Online there is no storyline to follow it's just mere harmless fun. In most of these games it's right vs. wrong, good vs. evil (everyone knows that the Allies are all "honey and sugar" not everyone knows that the Allies had there fair share of mistreatment of prisoners because it has been overshadowed by the Axis)

Like I said it's a political minefield.

I'm not bothered about playing as a *** or german just against em in a different area.01chodgs

That's the problem, various groups would be offended if a game were made about the Japanese or German SS, It's like making a game where your a terrorist fighting UN Forces. Something things are just political minefields that companies don't want to cross.

of all the weapons ive actually used, I would have to say the 240 Bravo 7.62mm Light machine gun.  m1rock

Ah yes the 25 pound wonder we Canucks call the C6. Love the gun but hate to be the one carrying it lol.

Oh all the modern weapons, I'd have to say the M2 .50 Cal HMG or TAR-21 or the G36.

I don't like the C7/C8 that much, fun too shoot but a b**** to clean and take apart.
