You know what's really obnoxious? Hearing an Xbox 720 or PS4 every single day.
After working the past ten-years in video game retail, I've [narrowly] escaped it to end up hearing these rumors every day to hearing them every day. The day of the PlayStation 3's launch, customers came in and started to tell me all about the PS4 -- the 720 had already had its heyday the year before. Now that I've started my newest venture as a video game journalist, I have to be subjected to an even more consistent bevy of rumors.
Let's set this all straight and never have to talk about it again until it's announced, okay?
First off: We know, it's coming out. Stop! You are not Microsoft. You are not Sony. Just because you saw a video on YouTube or heard from a guy that heard from a guy does not mean that you know the facts.
Second: Just because you add "Rumor" to your headline or body of your article doesn't mean you can still yammer on about it. It's a rumor. It's not fact. It has had no official announcement. Please refer back to number one.
Thirdly: When you "report" on a rumor, it makes you an uncredible source for any gaming news.
Fourth and Final: We know it will be announced at E3, you don't have an "edge" over anyone else and we've probably known the announcement was coming longer than you. Please refer back to number one and understand that until Microsoft allows the numbers '720' past its silken lips, we don't need to talk about it. Rumors are stupid and rarely hold any validity to them.
Please, for the sake of my sanity, stop feeding the rumor mill. For the sake of my brethren that are still in the battlefields of retail dealing with the effect of your cause, please stop feeding the rumor mill.
Thank you for your understanding.
