try holding down the power button for ten seconds (well, keep your finger over the sensor that acts like a button) and it will reset to factory settings. Could be your settings are corrupted.

I never notice rumble in games... Well except for when I put down the controller during a cut-scene and then it vibrates and moves across the floor.wallpaper42
Exactly, I really don't miss it. I don't want my controller to vibrate like a cell phone or

I thinkone of the main pointscoming to the fronthereis that the fact thatthe realpurpose of the companies is to make money, but that certain companies are more blantant than others at doing it, as thereare still some companies thatmanage to mix in caring about the quality of the games while wanting to make money.

Erandel
Yeah, and once they REALLY perfect Mario and Zelda, I'm sure Nintendo will go on to make other quality games. You know, I take back my rant against Nintendo, they really do care about the quality of their games, enough to spend 20 years striving to get it just right.

I agree with everyone else that I don't like the new E3.

SONY is the one people should be bashing here, NOT Nintendo. SONY is just in it for the money. They don't care about class or quality and they proved this at last years E3 and with their trashy PS3. But, oh no, no one ever bashes them, because they bring console gamers such "quality" and "mature" titles like God of War, which is just senseless violence, and GTA, which is just smut. Then there is little Nintendo, who everyone picks on, because they still have class and some what of a passion for what they are doing. They seek to make their games fun and enjoyable to people of ALL ages so EVERYONE can enjoy them. They refine their products, even the blatant cash in ones such Smash Bros., Mario Golf, Mario Kart, and so on. Some of those are Nintendo's best sellers, and what's best of all is they don't pump out a new one every year that is the same game as before with one or two new added features and slightly better graphics like EA, Microsoft, and SONY do. Nintendo isn't for little boys. Nintendo is for everyone, and by saying Nintendo is just for kids all you are doing is showing how shallow, stuck in the past, and immature you are.

Cerza
Actually, most of the 'picking on' I see is towards Sony. I've never seen more negativism towards a single product by people who don't own it. I myself bashed the heck outa the PS2, but it really was a piece of junk. Look, I've been playing Nintendo games since the 80's and their only real innovation has been the wiimote. However, I stopped giving my money to Nintendo after being disappointed again and again by their weak, Mario/Zelda-centric line-up. I've been playing these games FOR 20 YEARS, for gosh sakes. My tastes have changed, personally. People call them 'kiddy' games because they played them when they were kids, like myself. Sure, adults can play them, too, but some of us have different tastes than when we were 12. Though I do really enjoy Wii Sports and it is almost enough to buy the system, every time I look at Wii titles, upcoming and current, on any website, all I see are Mario and Zelda, as far as games with an aggregate rating > 70 %.

Humans only use 10% of their brain power!! The PS3 is already kicking our derrieres'!!

J/K, I know we really use like 25% percent of our brains, or something.

Human brain FTW!!!

kenshinhimura16

the human has been owned?????

I think it's 10 percent... I'm pretty sure.

The truth is that its not even 10%. Even the smartest minds of the world havent reached 20%

The truth is, you're wrong... That is complete nonsense. http://www.snopes.com/science/stats/10percnt.htm

[QUOTE="Hulabaloza"][QUOTE="psyum"]

[QUOTE="Hulabaloza"]I don't recommend buying a PS3 till at least late 2008. It's not going to have much of anything worth playing in the next year and it's way too expensive right now. If the PS3 looks good in late 2008 compared with the competition, it'll be a safe buy. Right now it could still be a $600 Dreamcast.GARRYTH

wow..i didn know the dreamcast broke records all along the world back in the day...´ps3 sold 600,000 in a week..i´m not even sure if the dreamcast sold that much on its entire life

The Dreamcast sold about 500,000 more consoles at this point in its life. http://www.vgcharts.org/aconscomps.php?name1=DC&name2=PS3&type=0&align=0

how
is that posible when the ps 3 broke records in uk 600,000 units. you also don't notice the 2.5 million total around the world.

Then again, look at the huge drop-off that happened to the DC in January, while the PS3 is doing fine comparatively. Also, the DC was released in September, so the 4th month was December (holidays) and for the PS3, the 4th month was a February.

Nope, I see nothing to be disappointed in, unless I had unrealistic expectations.

Yep, I went the same direction, kinda tired of pouring money into my PC...though I do miss the mouse and keyboard, most console FPSs have a subtle auto-aim that bridges the gap.

[QUOTE="Dr-Strangelove"]If you find it useful enough to help with money or time that's great, that's not to say one form of volunteering is any lesser or greater than another.Deyee

YOU aren't volunteering AT ALL. You're turning a console on and letting it sit there. Is that clear now?

You asked for alternative ways to volunteer and I listed them. I'm sorry none were as easy as believing that a console running is actually "helping the cause". But since you took it as a personal attack that I suggested educating yourself on illnesses running in the family I'll be sure only to respond with who I was talking with earlier.

What's wrong with you? How is educating myself on family illnesses equivalent to contributing my computing power to research? Why are you so set against that? You just seem to think you're better than everyone else, because you volunteer once a year. Big whoop. If I can donate (it's a donation, not volunteering) some of my computing power to medical research, whatever kind, I will, and that's my business. You talk like volunteering at a hospital is the same as contributing to disease research. Why not do both? They're not mutually exclusive.

I was thinking about getting a PS3 just to play God of War 2 because my launch PS2 has seen its better days and I know I'll have to get a PS3 someday anyways. I don't keep up too well on my PS3 news/rumors much but I do remember some stuff going on about PS2 games looking WORSE on PS3. I think I even saw a side by side comparison on You Tube and it did look pretty bad. Has this been fixed? Is it really that bad??

Also, anyone who connects a PS3 via a HDMI to DVI converter may be able to answer this one. How do you get audio?? Like with the 360 VGA cable it has the VGA connector and 2 audio cables. The PS3 HDMI cable does not have audio cables because HDMI carries audio and video but when you convert it to DVI you lose the audio.

You can still use your RCAs, I just have mine plugged into my stereo for the moment. It's all in the menu when you change resolution.
