I already have a computer that can play games on med settings(the only thing holding me back is a good graphics card) then i'll probly be able to play on high. I've only been playing consoles, mostly my ps2, except for lately(because i got a new computer to do my digital media art homework) and have been playing Advanced warfighter which came with my pc and have to admit it's alot easier than i thought.
What I want to know is if pc gaming is worth getting into? because i've heard you have to upgrade so often on graphics card, memory, vista pretty soon, proccessors, especially if you want to be playing them on high settings. Or would someone like me whose not a real hardcore gamer be better off if i stick with consoles? Be honest, and sorry that this is so long.

Well it depends, PC gaming has it flaws and it's positive outlooks. While PC games focus more on the "online" factor you get a larger crowd, PC games also tend to be more versatile giving more options and gameplay features. As far as upgrading a PC that's where the biggest downfall comes in, if you buy a decent computer with stable hardware, you dont need to worry about upgrading every year.
I run a AMD Athlon 64 3800+ (socket 939) 2Gig Memory, 250GB HD, and a Radeon 850XT 256mb, to most people this is an outdated computer rig, but it still runs some of the newest games quite smoothly. World of Warcraft, Battlefield, CS: Source all run pretty damn well.
