Could the problem be that the cpu fan isnt all the way attatched? because the fan is sorta broken, the notches that hold it in are bent so its not 100% on, its hanging off a bit could that be the problem? I dont know if its the power supply because i never had a problem with it before. everything in my comp is 'supposidly' really good... my cpu is a E6600, mobo was gigabyte GA-965p-s3, the power supply is a 550watt cx-series from coolmax

i do smell a bit of burning in my comp, but i have the standard stock fan on my cpu with really good thermal jell... and i have a pretty good fan on my GPU so i cant see it being that, i guess i'am going to have to wait till i get the RMA done for my mobo and put in my heatsink in that takes up about 3/4 my case :P

thanks for the help

well what i am gunna do first is find one of my older cards and try it, because it could be my ram also. if that is the case i also have a lifetime warrenty on my ram. but i seriously cant see it being my ram... only thing that sorta ticks me off is that i'll be without my gaming comp for a bit :(

I do somewhere, i'll search for one later on. but does any one know of a site where i can tell what these beeps mean?

EDIT: I googled and i found it, this is what it seems to be

"1 Long, 2 Short - Video card malfunction or problem with video RAM"

so now its down to my video card and ram i suppose.

i actualy hope if any thing, its the video card because i have a lifetime warrenty... it cant be the motherboard because it reconizes the mouse and keyboard. i cant see it being the power supply because it isnt that old and its a pretty good one. so right now all i can see it being is the video card or the cpu? could a bad cpu be causing this?

EDIT: do you mean "ram" when you say memory? because i cant see of out no where my ram going bad. actualy i cant see anything in my comp going bad...

I am on my other computer,

I am pretty sure i still have a warrenty for my 8800GT but i cant see that being the problem... I dont know how to figure out whats wrong with it besides the beeps.. and i checked on the site and i didnt manage to find the beep thing..

if any one could tell me what it means please do so, the beeps are "long beep, short beep, short beep"
