he's a reviewer...a reviewer don't tell nor decide outright for the readers whether or not to purchase a game...just review...does anyone here don't know what a review is anymore?

A review must respond to a single question : should I buy this game. It's all reviews are for. And OF COURSE a reviewer gives his OPINION on the game ! How else could it be ???

A "review" is about what the game has, how does it play, what the controls are. check the definition of a "review".

They called it a game "review" and not a game "opinion" for a reason, and that is that they want to be unbiased. and you can't be unbiased if you give "opinions".

Nobody can be completely unbiased, it is impossible. The only thing that can be done to help make a review less biased is to let the reader know your biases right from the beginning, and since Jeff writes so many reviews they obviously won't do that in every review so it is up to the reader to read Jeff's other reviews and see what kind of person he is. Maybe look at what he says about other games you like and then decide maybe he is to critical of the small gameplay problems, others may think he is right on with most ofthe stuff he says.

A review is not just saying what is in a game, and the controls! There are many other things that could ruin a game. What if the story sucked, which one can only answer by his or her opinion, which is what movie reviewers do. Also the pacing of a game, the difficulty, the craziness and fun you get from playing, the immersion, etc. You can't fully review a game (movie, music, or any other form of entertainment for that matter) and be completely unbiased.

No. Deus ex and hitman have nothing to do with this. When I get to playing Deus ex I'm going to spend some time writing a review and I would like if the user reviews on this site where taken somewhat seriously, after all, they are the last reviews on this site that cannot be questioned. Lets not destroy the good things that remain, ok?

I was under the impression that most of the people posting in this topic were leaving Lamespot forever so who cares if the reviews here are credible, we are all going to other sites to post our good reviews, so before we leave lets give Gamespot a taste of their own medicine and screw with the reviews that we write.
