For at least 8 years Gamespot has been my morning cup of coffee. It has been my primary source of information for my favorite hobby. As someone who watches almost no television, Gamepot was one of my favorite pieces of entertainment because I enjoyed the personalities of the writing staff and felt like I could trust them to give me an informed and honest opinion on the hobby that consumed most of my free time and money.I even paid for the highest subscription level when it came available, not because the premium content was compelling, but because I felt Gamespot's reviews and previews were better than any magazine I could subscribe too and I wanted to show my appreciation.I was very disappointed when I read of Gerstm@nn's firing and the controversy surrounding it.I didn't want to rush to message boards and make idle threats when I knew no one outside of Gamespot knew the full story. But now that time has passed I believe Gamespot's reputation is forever tainted and can't be saved.Gamespot can no longer be trusted has a source for unbiased opinions. It has been turned into a marketing tool for hire.I am saddened by this and feel like I've lost some long time friends.I hope the writers I've enjoyed for so long leave Gamspot for competing sites but I doubt I'll ever feel as attached to website or publication ever again.Gamespot's management should be ashamed and I hope they are held accountable for destroying one the most respected sites on the Internet.
Goodbye old friend
