@empsolo: This proves nothing. Your opinion is that The Taken King is not a great game. There's is. That's fair. But it is not the job of the publication to mimic your opinion. They said it was average, medicore, run of the mill. So what? You want them to take back their arbitrary rating to fit your opinion? This bickering is unproductive and ridicules.

@shane33046: No you couldn't. You can't say it for Splinter Cell, Thief, System Shock, Zelda, or so on and so forth, the COUNTLESS franchises that at least make the effort to TRY to innovate with every iteration. These Assassin Creed games, have been for the last few years coming off as reskins with no actual innovation made to their overall formula.

@Bread_or_Decide: This is completely and absolutely incorrect. 4's and 5's should be saved for below average or average games respectively. Are those games average? If they are, then by the scale of which Gamespot is SUPPOSED to be rating it's games by, it is a 4 or 5. 7's are for faulty, but good games.
