OK, I'm 42. It snuck up on me.

When I'm on live, it's usually Halo 3 (team slayer, CTF, territories, infection, whatever).

Count me in.

im looking forward to getting broadband and sign up with xbox live. since this is my 1st time to use broadband and use xbox live i dont know much about how to use my gametag.

- i have an xbox 360, but no broadband

- i signed up a new gametag on my xbox 360

- and then i went to xbox.com and signed up using my current gametag that i made from my xbox 360

now the problem is my gametag score on my xbox.com is still 0, but my gamescore on my xbox 360 is over 3000.

anyway my main question is once i get broadband can someone please help me step-by-step on what to do

a. can i still use the same gametag that i made from my xbox 360 which is on the xbox.com website as well.

b. if i give my gametag to people will it be safe?

I did the same thing you did. I scoured the forums to figure out how I could use the same gamertag that I had created on xbox.com and on my 360 while still keeping the achieviements and gamerscore that I had earned playing offline.

When you get access to broadband, you should be able to recover the tag you created at xbox.com, but this will leave you with 2 seperate profiles on your 360 with the same name. One will say xbox Live on it, and the other will not. The one that says xbox Live will have the zero gamerscore.

If you don't mind having a different tag, the easiest way to keep your gamerscore is to edit your offline profile on the 360 (changing your tag) and then recover the new tag you just created (assuming it's not already taken) on xboxLive.

You could also just start over with a zero gamerscore using the xbox Live profile.

If you absolutely must keep your tag the same and you want to keep your score and acievements, here is the only way I found to do it:

Say you originally created your gamertag on xbox.com called "mookywooky44". While offline, you also created a profile on the 360 called "mookywooky44", and started racking up acheivements on the offfline profile.

  1. You will need to change your online xbox.com tag with the zero gamerscore to something else. This will cost you 800 MS points.
  2. On you 360, sign in using the "mookywooky44 - xbox live" profile.
  3. Click on you gamer card in the blades menu, and then select "edit profile".
  4. Then select "gamertag" , and get ready to spend 800 MS points to change that tag. Say you change it to "mookywooky88" for example.
  5. Once you have done this, sign out of that profile "mookywooky88 - xbox Live" and sign onto the offline profile "mookywooky44" (the one with the gamerscore and acheivements)
  6. Click on "Join Live" and recover this gamertag. You should do it ASAP after changing the original xbox.com tag so that nobody else will have time to claim it.
  7. Now you will have a xboxLive profile with the tag you want and the gamerscore and achievements you earned while offline.
If you really love mookywooky44, then you are going to have to pay the price to keep those achievements.

41 and still kickin'. Did I win theprize for oldest fart?:D

I'm waiting 'til my 42nd birthday in October to score a 360. Hopefully they will have the "falcon" upgrade on the shelves by then.

Married &career, but no kids (maybe that's why I never had to grow up).
