Oldest Carnival in England on this Month

Isle of Wight RYDE carinval
Thursday 31st august & Saturday 2nd sept 2006

Ryde Carnival has been on every year for well over 100 years making it Englands oldest Carnival. Whe are going to be having 60,000 people turning up this year!

As usual i'm doing the carnival and this year were be'in Pirates.(aaaarrrr !!)

it's free

please come along and bring yer EYE PATCHES !!

annual review?

so theres been good HOTEL BABYLON(very under rated), LOST, DAVID TENNANT as DR.WHO and THE BIG HAIRY BIKERS (hopefully the big U-S-of-A will understand them..!)

but a lot of bad too on t.v. in england. i'll not say myself as the review and ratings can do it on it own.

but safe to say when britty drama wants to do it well it can do it with its eyes closed. Unfortunately the soaps are still missing their guide dog.

p.s. im selling my flat (its very nice,,, and on the isle of wight)

any takers ?

Bor of the worlds

Yet again i've to the movies . This time to see Tom and Steven's New flick , War of the Worlds. But what's the point making it? Independents Days was pretty close (in my view more entertaining ! ) Plus the old War of the Worlds was as good & almost the same as this one! Maybe it's because i expected it to be a lot better after a few of my friends really hyped it up or i've been spoilt in recent weeks with some stunning films. But i'm a little let down by this one because mind blowing effects, a' good movie'does not make !

Live 8 is cracking good

i'm watching live 8 on bbc 1 and its great to see how so many people care to give up there time in cause of a bigger issue. I'm not only talking about the musicans i'm also tlaking about the 100,000 people who were marching on the G8 sumit. Respect to the masses!

Movies mo' money

Funny thing films! In the last fortnight iv'e seen two movies. 'Star Wars' which as a fan I was a bit disappointed & 'Batman Begins', which I found suprisingly good. The problems I have about both of these i'll point out ! 1: Both movies contain lots of very famous actors and it felt they were hired for the sake of it, not performance. When 'Star Wars A New Hope' opened in 1977, there were very few stars in it. Plus to most fans 'A New Hope' is better than the newer ones. So would it of been better if there were bigger stars in it ? 2. These movies both cost millions to make, so why does it seem that above all things. Why do film makers seem reluctant to spend money in writing better stories. I still don't think these pictures are bad but they could be improved by the cheapest part of movie making... writing? Maybe its part of the computer age that special effects out weight scripting. I hope im wrong !
