[QUOTE="Mumbles527"]1) Any country that has legalized it has seen a dramatic decrease in the use of all other drugs, so clearly it would help in that part.

2) Why would you need dealers if 7/11 were selling it? That'd be somewhat moronic.

3) So you're saying that only special farmers can grow tobacco?

LJS9502_basic

1....not all at once, if true.

2...Dealers sell more than pot.

3...What? I'm saying anyone that can grow plants can grow marijuana. Therefore, no taxes.

2...Depends. Some sell anything and everything, some sell only pot. Most of the people I know only sell pot.

3...Very true. Hence, legalization should be out of the question. Decriminalization is the more practical alternative. Laws should allow someone to grow up to 6 plants, eliminating the need to go to a dealer, and then the black market for it shrinks, allowing the government to focus their efforts on controlling other substances.

They are part of the culture. You can't get rid of them now. Again...see prohibition. As I stated you have to minimize their usage...but unless the culture changes and people stop using them they aren't going anywhere.

The same thing applies to cannabis, really, just to a somewhat smaller, though still sizeable scale. If the government had been quicker to ban it (among other things) it may have eventually faded out of the public eye, but it had been around too long and got its foot in the door (like alcohol), and now is a part of the culture whether it's illegal or not.

Alright, I'll put in my two cents. Completely unrelated to inhuming substances, I think that farmers should grow hemp (read: not indica or sativa strains, which have substantially more THC). Smoking cannabis aside, hemp is an extremely useful plant that can be used in clothing, biomass fuels, etc. The government can regulate that all they want.

As for legality of cannabis, I think that outright legalization is unrealistic and an altogether bad option. They have no way of taxing something that is homegrown, and I refuse to allow tobacco companies to market it. We should instead adopt partial decriminalization. Allow possession of up to an ounce to go scot-free. An ounce to a quarter-pound should be fined 5,000 dollars and confiscated. Anything higher than a quarter-pound should go to jail for a minimum of 1 year. Substantial quantities (at least 50 pounds or more) should result in at least a 10-year sentence. This would (hopefully) keep the mostly innocent people out of jail, freeing up space for more serious offenders. Fines can go towards the prison system/drug education/drug research programs.

I think there needs to be more collegiate studies on LSD, MDMA, Psilocybin, LSA, and all other indole-ring entheogens as well as Phenethylamines. Government studies have been rather sketchy in the past. They should never be legalized, however. Perhaps decriminalized to a lesser extent than cannabis (i.e. very small quantities allowed). While cannabis is relatively safe to drive on (not for everybody. Some people, though, including myself can drive just fine under its' influence.), none of those substances are safe to drive on, and legalizing them would cause a lot of problems with this.

Pretty much everything else needs to stay illegal, however, more effort needs to be made with helping the addicted.

To the TC, regardless of your personal experiences, please do not lump all pot-smokers into the same stereotypical category.

I don't watch the news, because everyone's biased or reporting on unimportant crud. I read it, because words written tend to have less bias than words spoken.

Well, Mods, lock this. Or is it okay for people to talk about illegal drugs in a non-illegal way?

Triggers do not make you drum faster. They make you drum louder, so that all of your bass hits are the same volume. During live shows a lot of bands will use them because the drummer (especially metal drummers) can't keep up his stamina for the entire show. 90% of metal bands use triggers, especially metalcore ones like All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, etc. The rest use either drum machines or sheer speed and talent, or just aren't trying to prove that they can use their feet.

Frost of Satyricon only uses his bass with one foot. But you wouldn't be able to tell from listening to it.

But fast double bass drummers are a dime a dozen these days. That being said, here are my favorites:
Sean Reinert
Etienne Gallo
Landryx
Billy Cobb
Danny Carey
Buddy Rich (although technically he wasn't in a band, he was a drummer with a backing band)
Mike VanDyne

That's about it.

There are free online text-based games similar toDnD called MUDs (Multi-User Dungeons), google the term and thousands will come up. Alternately, people sometimes try to set up a message board-based game, but they're very slow-paced. The best way for you to learn would be to borrow the manual from the library, or sit in at a local gaming store (Games Workshop, Legends, etc.)

Me? It only took me about a week to get from 19 at 99 percent to 20 at 0 percent. But I did it, now I'm like 27, I think.
