Jack Black is a better musician than most of those other idiots in contemporary music. So he wins there. As an actor, he really has only one identity, but he's really good at it. But he's a better musician than actor. Although, he's a really good actor in the Tenacious D stuff...the EPT 'Butt Baby' clip was awesome.

You can not OD on pot. It is physically impossible. There is no LD50 (dose where 50% of test subjects die), because it can't be done. If you tried, you could get brain damage, and maybe sick to your stomach, and then pass out, before making it a tenth of the way there, assuming you have a really high tolerance. Regular people wouldn't make it half as far. You wouldn't lose any brain cells in any other way, either.

I was on another site and there was a genre battle thread like this at one point and it ended up being the most hilarious music thread ever.

On topic:  They eventually progress into political and sociocultural topics, and merge into one drunken Neo-Nazi mob, and kill the homeless black guy in front of the liquor store.  Then, under the influence of the alcohol, realize that the world is pain and mutate into emotive hardcore kids.  And then just stop listening to music altogether, because now they're not drunk anymore.

Pot isn't all that bad, though it has more tar that cigs. But other drugs f*ck up yourlife, until they end it. Even LSD. I heard LSD is not addictive or very harmful, but I heard you'll never be the same after taking it. Naked_Shooter

Less tar.  It's actually three times less tar than cigs as long as you pick out seeds and stems.

And life will never be the same after taking LSD, correct, but most of the time it's a positive change.

And for all the people who keep saying weed is harmful to your health, at least acknowledge the fact that there are many completely legal substances which are more harmful.

some guy i know took ectasty one night and nearly died... said he saw a light...

odds are that he didn't take ecstacy, or he didn't properly hydrate himself.  overdoses brought on by the chemical itself are very rare.  not condoning it, just pointing out that people need to be more careful.

[QUOTE="killtactics"]oh ok sorry.... we did't know u were the last word on pot.....We had no idea that your experience = everyone's......i still have no idea how i was able to get A/B grades while on that stuff in hishschoolBobbyBobby85

It's not that hard to receive As and Bs when your country's education level is far below world-wide standards.  Plus since you're an advocate of Marijuana it's obvious you strive to put it in a good light, so it's a no brainer you'll set a good example for pot-smokers everywhere by labeling yourself as one of the typical "Hey look!  I'm a drug user and I passed high-school!" Crowd.

It's use is far more widespread than just high school graduates, you know.  And it's about time it started getting shown in a good light.  Up until recently it's been nothing but the Devil's Flower.

and an aeroplane killed my dog. True story (no joke)

The point is that while accidents happen (River Phoenix) there is no point in having a long term relationship with a drug that destroys you like heroin. I forgot what movie it was...something that ended  with the word "dreams". Show that to a sixth grader and they will never touch a drug. it was pretty raw.

The movie you're looking for is Requiem For a Dream.

In all honesty, it depends on the person.  I'm estimating that percentage of people addicted to weed as opposed to users is roughly the same percentage as alcoholics as opposed to those who drink.  Both addictions are bad addictions and have bad withdrawals.  But, like the majority of people who drink alcohol, the majority of people who smoke pot run very little risk of harmful effects.  There's three times less tar in pot than cigarettes (presuming you don't smoke seeds and stems), and THC has been shown to fight lung cancer.  Just like small amounts of alcohol won't give you kidneystones and have chemicals that fight heart problems.

But the brain cell thing has gotta stop.  One study concluded that marijuana killed brain cells, and those results were achieved by suffocating the test subject (monkey) with smoke, something that can't be replicated short of a fire or someone committing suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.  The head of the study was given a bonus for getting those results, as well.

I don't believe everything  I learned in DARE, but a lot of it I accept as half truths.  The NIDA and DEA, etc., tend to exaggerate facts and bias their test samples, research studies, and use statistics creatively to mislead people.  But they're not outright lying.

I don't give two ****s about the names of the bands or the lyrics unless it's intentional.  And a lot of the bands I listen to don't take themselves very seriously anyways.  So in a sense, you're right, but why should someone listen to a band based on the name of the band or the lyrics they sing?  You could just as easily say the same thing about a lot of rappers' performance names.  And even the older stuff.  Lead zeppelins don't work, they must be idiots.  See where I'm going with this?

Edit:  Read the rest of the thread.  Make fun of Dragonforce and Motley Crue all you want, they really do suck in one way or another.  They're unintentionally hilarious.  All the death metal bands, grind bands, and about half the black metal bands are all in a sort of unspoken contest to outmetal each other with their band names.  Spawn of Possession were 4 guys who wanted to make death metal with a lot of baroque and contemporary classical music influence.  The name was the last thing they had on their minds.  Anal CI_INT (censored word there) was supposed to be a joke and still is, but a few idiots thought it was awesome and a few other guys spotted the joke and wanted more anyways.  And the focus in death/black metal is the music, and not the lyrics.
