anybody that has played a few RPGs in their life knows one thing. they either suck, or are kinda good. thats talking about most RPGs of course. but every now and then a bright shining star comes out and it just rocks. more than a year ago i bought one of these games, you may have heard of it, its called the elder scrolls IV oblivion. I loved this game from the start. the first day i bought it became "ill" and had nothing to do but sit in my room and play for 16 hours. but then i just stopped playing. i blame it on vampirism but im not sure anymore. but recently i was sitting at my friends house bored out of my freakin mind. so i said hey brian, pop in oblivion lets see what your characters like. he has a good character a nice red-guard. it was fun watching him play, which to me is one thing that makes a game good. if you can watch somebody and be entertained then its probably a fun game. ANYWAY. after i went home and became bored, i thought, hey why not? i started a new file and rocked it. i looked online to see what would make my character a bit better than my last...then i spent a half hour in the sewers......TOTALLY WORTH IT. anybody thats played oblivion knows that the beginning sucks partly for a few reasons. im starting in the dungeon and i know that outside is a place thats not dark and ugly, and your stats are low, its dark, i have to fight freakin rats, and its dark. but as soon as you get out the sewers...the beauty of the this new work you are going to be spending a lonnnng time in, hits you, and you just know its going to be fun. now you can either go from the sewer to do the main quest(which i dont like much) or do some fun quests. I love doing quests in this game, for 2 reasons. They are fun. And every quest you do feels like you are doing it for a reason. there is a story behind it all, and you feel like you are really doing something. not fetching 25 green mushroom tops and 100 boar tusks and forking over 6000 gold to get an enchanted hat. oblivion is a world and when you do the quests you are a part of that world. you make the world work. and thats a reason why oblivion works. one more major reason it works is, the achievements. i dont have a ton like my friend B. but i like them. When a multi-platform game comes out and i want it. i get for the 360 because i get achievements. The achievements in oblivion are perfect. you get good points, and you get them for doing cool things and you feel like you actually achieved something. which i like. building skills is another thing that makes total sense. WAITING and FAST-TRAVELING is amazing. BY THE NINE I ENJOY THIS GAME.
