@unreal101 @d_generate_x I think I understand what you're saying about being too serious. The reason I think is that a lot of people would like this competitive gaming movement to grow so that it is more socially accepted. They have a cause they cherish and they try to defend it.

It's probably the same fight any major sport had to go through in it's history. And when situations like this happens, I try to think about the early days of Hockey (that's what I know!). In 1942, well into the existence on the NHL, becoming a "Pro" was still blasphemy for a lot of people. But eventually, it got accepted because it entertained the masses.

The earlier generations would watch their kids adore these guys and think they were good for nothing if they would dare dream of becoming a Hockey player.

When I read hate comments about "esports", I can't help to think that a lot of those people are only repeating what their parents told them as kids: It's a waste of time, why don't you go outside etc.

Saying that you don't like it is fine. I don't like soccer and that's fine, but I'm not going on soccer forums to hate on them! haha.

It's all a question of respect and perspective!

@unreal101 @d_generate_x I'm trying to be serious here. You say the entertainment value of actors/comedians is immense. Yet, you surely know that people are not entertained by the same things. So I find it pretty narrowed minded of anyone who questions other people's entertainment preferences.

Lets say I'm a successful business man: I create jobs, I fund research and charities etc: I have an impact on the world. If I'm entertained watching poker or a rock/paper/scissors tournament, are the people competing useless to society if they entertain me?

This is a discussion about taste, not about usefulness. What do you think?

@unreal101 And what about pro athletes? You think a fat out of shape baseball player would be more usefull to society? I don't see anyone complain about the existence of Pro Poker players, or actors who ENTERTAIN people.

@Prats1993 I agree with this. I'm all for acceptance and equality, but I'm getting fed up hearing about it.
