Valve is scared and needs to find some way to save the future of Steam, they finally found a real competitor on DD market -> Amazon.com and Sony, Apple and Microsoft will do anything to catch their market.

They don't have "know-how" to built a new console or something like that but they will have to try to do something even that the chances of failure is high.

Sony doesn't need them to create or build a new console.
