It looks like a pretty good deal, the RAM is a little on the slow side for a quad core processor so you might bottleneck it a little but other than that everything else seems spot on.

His board does actually support it i found a list of compatible boards, its one of the few 945s that do, needs a BIOS update though and you would probably still be better off with a P35 chipset board as you'll get more out of the CPU especially if you want to overclock it.

I would aim for a P35 chipset based board from either Asus, Abit or Gigabyte.

Just having had a quick google its possible some 945 boards will unofficially support Penryns but you are required to manually overclock in your BIOS to 1333Mhz which isn't a 100% percent guarantee it will work.

I don't think it will, his board is a 945 chipset which is several generations old, to my knowledge only the P35, 38 and 780 nvidia chipsets support it. The nvidia 680i might but they certainly don't support the quad core version due out shortly.

Your HD TV will likely be at a resolution of 1280x720 so you have no chance of smooth frame rates with a 7600GT, maybe at low res but no chance at medium.

No way, you can't even mix the RAM on the boards that have both slots its either or.

I'm not 100% but i don't think that board will work with the new Penryns for a start they run at 1333Mhz bus which your board doesn't support. To my knowledge only the current P35 and up series boards are compatible, not even sure if 965's are, maybe the odd one but certainly not all.

Use a vacuum cleaner and a can of compressed air should do the trick.
