darkIink Blog

A blog post actually about me!

after using this blog as a way to keep track of forums stuff I'll now use it for me.

I'm now in my third year of college. After trying to switch to biomed engineering, I went back to my original bio major and pre-med track. Of course, now my schedule sucks. I left school yesterday to study at home, while everybody is partying. Why do I have triple the work compared to all my friends? Oh that's right I want to be a doctor. I guess it'll pay off in the future but now I'm really sick of this ****.

And some people said I'm too young to be a junior in college. I'm 19, but I was born in December so I AM turning 20 this year... just that I'll be 20 for only about a week in 2009 before it's New Year's again.

To finish off, I'm going to NY Anime Festival next weekend so me and my friends will get our nerd on: an ok ending to a crappy month. :D

Pro-life owned!

Awesome post on OT:

The anti-abortion movement focuses on one thing, the sanctity of human life. And if they are right, that each new life deserves a chance to be born, then that is not affected AT ALL by whether or not the mother was raped.

And if you bring up the standard "rape exception" point about the mother's mental state, then that's still tricky as hell. If she doesn't want to raise the child, can't she just put it up for adoption the same way that anti-abortion advocates think that EVERY OTHER abortion seeker should put their kids up for adoption?

And if abortion is "murder", and rape victims are allowed to "murder" their "children" in order to spare the mother from the emotional trauma of carrying her rapist's child for nine months, then once again we're back to square one. The woman's "feelings" are justification for "murdering" a "person". In which case, we're STILL left with the situation in which it's okay to murder babies as long as the mom has a reason for not wanting it. And if we're going that route, then we're right back to abortions for every woman who wants one.

Epic GabuEx post

A good summary of what I think, but GabuEx wrote it well :D

Well, my personal reason for believing in a God is basically rooted in speculation about the origins of the Big Bang. Scientists currently believe that some fourteen-odd billion years ago, the universe was an infinitely small singularity that then expanded, with space expanding along with the matter within it. One of the fundamental laws in the world is the conservation of energy, stating that the amount of energy in a closed system must be constant. Since Einstein showed that energy is fundamentally interchangable with mass (which was proven to be true through the atomic bombs), this also means that the total mass (and energy) in a closed system must be constant - that is, mass cannot come from nothing and it cannot go into nothing; it can only be converted into energy (and theoretically back again, although I believe that has never happened).

Thus, it can reasonably be concluded that the universe did not create itself, so we can only make one of two conclusions:

1. The universe must have always existed; or

2. The universe must not be a closed system (i.e., something external to it could have added what exists from outside).

We know that since the Big Bang happened in the first place that the singularity must not have been stable, which thus rules out the possibility of that singularity existing as a singularity forever prior to the Big Bang. Therefore, the only other option for #1 to be true is for the universe to be an endless oscillation of Big Bangs and Big Crunches. However, current scientific knowledge is that the universe's expansion is not slowing down, but rather is speeding up, which makes it likely that the universe will only become more and more filled with empty space rather than coming back together.

If the universe has not always existed, which seems likely to me given current scientific knowledge, then the only other conclusion is that the universe is not a closed system, in which case all bets are off.

Open your minds people, take philosophy classes with this mindset (written above) and it will be awesome.

I am upset over the denial of evolution in GS so I got these links in a good discussion in OT. I'll add to these as I find them.

My new AMV vs. Youtube. Who wins? Read my blog!!

Well if you read my last blog post, you would know what I was up against. Youtube deeming my AMVs copyright-infringing, when 100 peopel a day upload entire episodes and don't get rejected immediately like I did. But after arguing with them, I got it up!!

Either way, I added a stupid ownership title screen to my AMV to make sure it wouldn't get taken down in the future. Well, here it is. I hope I get more views this time. COMMENT!!

My third AMV is up! PLEASE WATCH AND COMMENT!

Well before I tell you about my work, let me tell you readers that my AMV was rejected by youtube, veoh, and dailymotion. Those @******s all denied me saying my video was copyright infringement. Am I putting the whole unedited show up? Making a profit? Taking away viewers of the show? No I put fraking music on top of an anime so even if you see it there is no way it can substitute the real thing on cartoon network/tv tokyo because primarily you can't hear the voice acting, and I put blur/darken/fade effects all over! Who the F thinks of these copyright laws? Well anyway rant is over. If anyone wants, comment on your opinion of copyright laws and how far they should go.

Now, onto my video :) It is on my video section of my profile, or here. I used Narut0 epis0des 61, 115, 116, and 117. The music is Chop Suey! by System of a Down. For those not familiar with what happens here, Neji is buying time for Naruto to save his friend Sasuke. Well Neji knows he may not survive against his opponent but he is confident in Narut0's ability to change his friend from being obsessed with revenge and getting power by any means necessary. Neji comes from a family that controls them to be protectors of the main branch of the family. This fght is a way for Neji to finally fight for something he believes in and not for something a person tels him to do.

The summary is important because I made the video for those who watched the episodes. Well that's it. Comment on anything you want, the f-ing copyright laws or my AMV. And if there is slowdown on the video sorry but GS is the only place that accepts my video. Just let it load all the way in its own window (not tab) before watching, because I worked hard to sync the fight to the song, and I wnt you to see it!

Edit: thanks to jeff, got it on animemusicvideos.org. link Scroll down to downloads, it's there in WMV format, it looks great there.

Finished!

Well I am now officially done with my first year at college! I have 2 weeks of vacation, because... I have to take a summer class. Western Philosophy. Sounds interesting, but I'd rather be doing other things, oh well. Lousy university requirements!

Well my Chem final was so hard I saw 2 girls walk out crying. Seriously these teachers are so hard! As for my Biology final, I did great on that! 8) Seeing as I want to go into medicine I better get an A in that class!

I have been studying the entire weekend, and it feels great to be free. What else... I got a pic up for the stalkers, am working on an AMV, will get that on youtube soon, and I guess that's it!

Finals!

Today was my last day of my first year at Stony Brook University! I handed in my big ass stack of essays to the Writing Center, and got to leave early. My other lectures were doing review, but I left early because I study better alone than with my friends talking loud around me.

Well I have only 2 final exams, compared to my other friends! One has Calculus and Physics tests on the same day :!: Yes that's me doing the guard ! thing when they find you in the Metal Gear Solid series. Well, my 2 exams are Chemistry and Biology. I ruled at Bio this year, think I have a 85 GPA, that's about an A or A-. Yes my school is ridiculous with their grading. The last test had a class average of 61. I got 86 8) . Well Chem is on Wed, and Bio is next Monday coming up. I'll post both those days, and my feelings of the tests.

Here are some funny tests to lighten up the mood here:
