So I had to do a force quit on CoD4 like an hour ago. I went to go back into SP to play and I got this error message:

"It appears that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare did not quit properly the last time it ran.
Do you want to run the game in safe mode?

This is recommended for most people.
It will change your system settings but not your controls."

I tried the "yes" option....nothing happened. I went back in again and tried the "no" option....game still wouldn't open.

I restarted my computer (more than once)....still got the error.

I REINSTALLED the game....STILL got the error message.

No matter what I do I can't get past the error message, and therefore can't play at all....any suggestions?

Have not seen any good PC exclusive titles in a while. Besides Crysis which not many people can play. But the Consoles are getting GTA 4 and many other games in '08 but what about PC:(.I hope '09 is year of the PC.:)DarxPhil

Personally, I don't see a lack of good PC games in 2008...

For PC the best I ever played was Diablo 2. I put too many hours into that game to count.

If your counting over any system, I would have to say Zelda: Ocarina of Time for N64 was the best game ever.

What card should i get an Nvidia 8800 series (EVGA,GTS,GTX,XFX) which ones should i get that are the best but not crazzy expensive?scottishme

Nvidia 8800 GT is the best deal around at the moment, it's about $280-$300 (depending where you shop) for the 512MB version. The manufacturer you choose isn't as big of a deal, just browse forums and sites to see which one seems to work well (aka no overheating issues, etc.) Personally I have had good luck with eVGA and BFG.

If you want something cheaper you could always go for the Nvidia 8600 GT. Be warned if your trying to run new games like Crysis and CoD4 it won't run it as well as the 8800's. The good news is that it's only about $120.

The last choice would be the 8800GTX card. It out performs any of the other 8 series cards, but it also costs about $550.
