Doesn't matter how powerful your pc may be. We pc gamers with high end gpu's are the minority, just take at look at the steam survey.

http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/directx/

I understand what tc is saying and agree. I have a Gigabyte gtx 670 oc windforce and prefer pc gaming due to mouse and keyboard.

Also the upgrading is what attracts me to it but I am under no illusions that the gpu I have is under utilized and most games are un optimized.

The amount of processing power being wasted is criminal that's why the next gen consoles coming out with lower specs than my gpu will benefit more as they will have optimization's that pc gamers can only dream about.

Those saying " My pc kills next gen consoles" are missing the point.

We pc gamers don't make them the money. Console gamers do.

You have 3arc claiming dx11 on the next black ops as if they care about pc gamers when in fact, they are preparing for the next gen and using pc as the preparation.

I will always keep my pc up to date though whichever consoles I purchase.

I just hope that as the devs will be using dx11 that pc games may get better treatment but I am not holding my breath.

Summer sale made me install a crazy amount of games in my 150gb WD raptor n when i started lagging in cs i was quite alarmed, then i realised that i had 1.7gb remaining.

Transfered many steam games to my other hdd and cleaned it up a bit. Now L.A Noire runs like a dream, i don't see the need to use that fix to unlock the 30fps cap or to erase the black bars, these 30 fps's are so much smoother than in ps3 where it was still very playable and also everything looks very polished.

alan_carter

I also play this game without the fix as the 30fps is fine for a game like this. It's very good in 3d too.

I play a mission every couple of days though as it can become boring during long play sessions.

Conviction is like a one trick pony with mark and execute. The game is caked in excessive foul language unlike other splinter cells not to mention that the npc's sound the same.

A poor splinter cell game indeed, glad I only paid £3.75 for it. Chaos theory destroys it.

What I would do is take your pc to a friends house if possible and download it there. If it works then I would say it your isp or modem/router. I know that you have reset the modem but that doesn't mean that it ain't faulty. At least you could rule out your pc.

Also if you have a laptop or your neighbours have, ask to borrow it and try downloading again.

I get this with 2 pc's in my house and it's always the virgin media broadband or the modems fault.

I get those errors all the time and it's the download being corrupted.

The cause of it on my end is my internet provider even though they claim that everything is fine but yet when I unplug the modem and redownload the file, it works.

Sometimes I have to download it a few times after rebooting the modem. It happened yesterday when downloading the newest beta from nvidia.

I have to download demos on the ps3 at least twice as well.

Yes, the retail version. I'm gonna try this then, thanks

Ben-Buja

No worries. ;)

No, didn't work, the game just crashes now when I try to start the campaign. I nominate this game for worst port of all time.

Very sorry to hear that. I hope that they do something about it this week as some forum manager said that a patch is coming sometime soon.

I would avoid the asus top version.

I have seen reports on overclockers forum that the fans have a high risk of failure within a short time.

120hz will be better for gaming. 1440p will be better for everything else.

kraken2109

Agreed.

Do you have retail?

If so I think you should reinstall then when the auto patcher starts up, simply stop or cancel it.

But remember that online will have different builds but at least you may be able to play the campaign until the patches are sorted.
