Some say the first post is always the hardest... whatever.
So let's get down to it, eh? I'm Dave, a twenty something year old father of one and husband of one (for now). My son is a bad ass butt kicker and he's already walking at 10 months. Booyah! There should be an achievement for learning to walk that early, also there should be a dechievement for using the word Booyah. I'm a natural video gamer as I was raised alongside daddy nintendo and mommy gameboy and I enjoy types of games that the mass community probably wouldn't. I hold firm a belief that games have gone in a very wicked direction (I call it the Wolfenstein effect) and we need to get back to our innovative grassroots. My favorite games come from the SCUMM engine and Lucas Arts. The Dig, Full Throttle, The Secret of Monkey Island, Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders, Loom, Sam & Max Hit the Road etc.... I (obviously) enjoyed all the Myst games in the series and would prefer that gaming take a nice U-Turn and bring back the intellectual games of old while doing away with the Michael Bay-esque games of today. I enjoy creativity and innovation, Braid was excellent storytelling and a wonderful use of a gameplay mechanic. World of Goo is another good one, N+... these games are all considered "casual" and while I do enjoy creating a stippling pattern in the back of some 12 year old's head just as much as the next guy, I believe that we gamers can do better.
I've come to the gamespot community in search of answers, questions and some good ol' fashioned time killing. Now that you know a little about me, you can feel free to do what the masses of internet peons do and flame my comments section.
