My Review of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (Xbox Version)

A great game thats weighed down by some control problems and some unusual story points

When i first played MGS:2 it was on the PS2 and I didn't take to it to much having played the first MGS this one seemed odd control-wize and I couldn't play it too well. Then the X-Box version was released and my problems were gone mostly because the X-Box was my primary system so most of the issues were gone.

After having completed the Tanker chapter of the story I was shocked to find out that Snake wasn't even the main character! but I really didn't care because I thought Raiden was a pretty cool character the main reason people didn't like him was mostly because he replaced Snake. As I progressed later on in the story I noticed things were getting weired almost to a science-fiction story level but thats not saying its not good its just Conveluted.
The main gripe I had with this game was the controls they didn't work for me I found them sloppy and unresponsive, now to some people the controls might be fine but I didn't like them.

Now enough with the negative comments on to the good. This game has GREAT GRAPHICS this game looked great 3 years ago when I last played it and boy do they still
look great facial animations and the motion capture is incredible. There is also a absouletly fantastic score by composer Harry-Gregson Williams plus great in-game sound effects from gunfire to great voice-over especially Solid Snake's VO actor David Hayter. The action in the game is very well done also with some very tense moments and good stealth sequences.

Final Thought
------------------
Overall MGS:2 Substance is a great game thats well worth a purchase for any X-Box user who wanted to play MGS:2 and also whoever likes Stealth/Action games in general so what are you waiting for? go play MGS:2 Substance!

Score
-------
Graphics: Great, very good facial animations and motion capture.

Gameplay: Good unfourtunatley you spend more time watching it than playing it but the stories great so who cares.

Sound: Superb soundtrack by Hollywood composer Harry-Gregson Williams and great VO (voice acting) & in-game sound effects.

Value: The game is long and there are multiple things to do so its very worthy of your money.
