LOL You care that much about 1/10 of a book who's mysteries are best not known. There are tons of collectibles and stuffs and just because you can't get 1/10 of the manuscript you won't touch it? That's hilarious. Out of about 250 things to pick up you're worried about 10. That obviously aren't necessary, just an added perk. I just don't get it man. Did you collect all 100 hidden packages in GTA? You couldn't do that in a single playthrough...unless you spent hours looking it up in a guide. (I actually got 99 and couldn't figure out the last one) But then again I plan on playing Alan wake at least twice, which means that it'll be a nearly 40 hour experience. It's also funny to see these people say a 6-8 hour single player mode, when it's more like 17-20.[QUOTE="dean0null"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]
You do not get the complete story on anything but the highest difficulty that's not available for play until you beat the game once.
If people are happy with only part of the story then terrific, if they want the full story they have to play twice.

I don't think you're that well versed about what Alan Wake is about
The entire game revolves around the manuscripts. They tell the story about what's going on in the game not only with your character but all the other characters in the game. As you collect all of them you find out the story of the game. Playing through the game itself is just getting a part of the game's story.
So the game is forcing anyone who wants to know the complete story to play twice, that's nothing at all like finding the packages in GTA. They didn't have important story elements when you collected them.
I will concede this one as I agree. However, the way I feel is that it really doesn't matter if you complete the manuscript. Hell, the book might be the entire manuscript itself. I think you feel differently and I can handle that objection and I can see why someone would have one. I guess I lumped you with others on this thread, which I shouldn't have.
What does annoy me is people slandering the game based off of length when they've never played it. I'd figure it will take at least 16 hours to beat...possibly 22-25 if you collect everything except for the added manuscript.
