Kevin Smith jumped his own shark immediately after Chasing Amy, which I felt was his best effort. I also loved Clerks, but despised Mall Rats (in his defense and I mean at the time, not now, Universal took the film away from him, demanded cuts and reshoots)
But everything after Amy is nothing but hubris on his part and I just couldn't stomach his recycling of ideas and his own "nostalgia" as a mask for running out of original thought.
And then there was the wince and vomit inducing "powerful stuff...powerful stuff" of his tear filled review of the Last Junkpile...I mean Jedi.
@loveblanket: translate gun crazy to gun violence. Also, most of the films coming from Finland, Switzerland and France do not contain gun violence compared to American culture and entertainment.
@illegal_peanut: There was a remaster. Limited Run games put it out. I picked it up before it sold out. Looks pretty good, way better than it originally did.
@loveblanket: So just bits and pieces. That said she was the BOSS and leaves no excuse to not right the ship after a full decade. She was in charge, as was Disney. She had her hands on some of the best films during the height of her pre Disney/Star Wars tenure, and those prior films were allowed to be art. Hubris got the best of her when Lucas gave her the keys. Maybe it would have gotten to anybody. BUT she is the one that put her name on the project.
