@medafaded: Don't buy it then. You know who cares in here? No one.

@medafaded: I haven't seen them say anything about still working on it, actually I've read that they were almost totally done when it was announced. I'm not a fan of the pre-release DLC, but let's not all act like we didn't know there would be DLC for a giant open world RPG. Maybe we all pull our heads from the sand and just realize this is our gaming world now. (And I see in the article it says they're working on it, but I can't imagine that's to remove content to sell you later).

A couple that I think are cool that I haven't seen:

Ninja Gaiden (NES version...who are the ninja's fighting?)

Final Fantasy XII (Did I just watch my Captain kill the King?)

Lufia and the Fortress Of Doom (You play the backstory before the game)

SSX 3 (They first drop you on the mountain, and you just ride and ride, it's so open)

I will add that I feel biased towards this because I was like 12 and this was the most epic thing I'd ever seen from a game. But the one that sticks with me for sure is The Last Of Us. Not a lot of games make you understand what the feeling of helplessness is, but the intro does that right away. Having a daughter makes it so much easier to understand also, and when she gets shot its a stomach punch. You can feel his dispair, its all gone in minutes. How does he respond? That's what sets up everything with Ellie, his obvious dispair and loss.

I'll always remember the opening to FFVI. The scroll down with the organ music, the voices when the game title pops up, and then it scrolls down to send you to Narshe and set the stage, plus the great Magitek walking sequence? Awesome stuff!

Let me start by saying that they're entitled to their opinion, and it's fine if GS wants to give it a 6. I'm not gonna trip out like some Last of Us fanboy.

Having said that, I think this review (and many Madden ones before) are bitching about them not changing it up, but also complaining that it's not quite the same. Each year there's a new gameplay change that works (this year's running game changes work well) and some don't (vision cone comes to mind). But the thing is this: what could you want different? You realize that this is a game running 22 players at a time, with a physics engine that does a solid job of portraying tackles, has about 30 things you can do before a play, has to run said play (one of about 600 at least), then takes into account that all of those players are doing what they're supposed to, not to mention tying to add in the commentary AND give you the feeling that you're playing football? It's a lot going on, and I think they do a good job. I would say that a lot of players won't care much about the fluff added to the franchise mode, and the menus do have some issues. But nothing is perfect.

I'll be happy with this game, and I'll be skipping this year's version on next gen due to the fact that it's a straight port. But next year I think we'll all have the right to ask where the improvement is if the game hasn't changed at all, and I honestly think that the things they've done on this year's and last years versions are tests to see what can work gameplay wise on the next gen. Here's to hoping I'm right.

I may or may not have pirated games before, and may or may not have pirated music also. Here's the deal: would I consider myself a thief on the level of someone who stole a game off a shelf? No. But is what I would have done any more or less damaging? No. Game devs pay lots of people to provide them a service so that they can provide the code that a lot of you are claiming not to be a tangible thing. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not real. When you buy a PC game (or any game, for that matter), you are basically paying for a service. Someone wrote what you're using, would you or should you be ok with taking music/books/video that people made? Just because it's online doesn't make it fair game.

Obviously Red Dead should've been on there, it's amazing. I'm glad you put on To The Moon, I cried like a baby after that game, it's amazing. I agree with a previous poster on inFamous, the flip at the end blew my mind. Two endings from old games that I don't think get enough love are from FF6 and Chrono Trigger. FF6 does just the right amount of wrap up and shows how they'll all continue on to rebuild, and the best ending for Chrono is only great because you have to change so much and replay it so often to get to that ending. It's satisfying to see how they all should end up.
