As far as remakes go, this game fills all the checkpoints. Fuzzy controls keep it from being great.

    Disney DuckTales: Remastered

As far as remakes go, this game fills all the checkpoints. Fuzzy controls keep it from being great.

I must confess something at the start, here. The singular point of this review was to see how I would view the game versus how Tom McShea viewed it. When his 4.5 score came out, along with his "Smothered by Nostalgia" ar... Read Full Review

Third time's the charm. This is not only the best of the very good series, it might be the best RPG of its era.

The Bard's Tale 3: The Thief of Fate

Third time's the charm. This is not only the best of the very good series, it might be the best RPG of its era.

The Bard's Tale 3: The Thief of Fate represents one of the rarest items you'll ever find in the world... a sequel of a sequel that is the best in the trilogy (dare I say, in the same vein as Super Mario Bros. 3?). And i... Read Full Review

Heroes of Might and Magic V: Hammers of Fate

Expansion of HoMMV? If by "expansion" you mean "alpha-testing new features that might appear in HoMMVI&q

Heroes of Might and Magic V was, for some, a smashing success. It was basically a 3D conversion of HoMMIII, which, to some degree, was all it offered. However, since HoMMIII was so great, keeping the general principles... Read Full Review

Is it possible to make a stand-alone game out of an RPG franchise's perennial first enemy? Yes.

    Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime

Is it possible to make a stand-alone game out of an RPG franchise's perennial first enemy? Yes.

A slime by any other name is still a blob of goo. Unless it's a Dragon Quest slime. These cutesy droplets of monochrome fluid make their solo album debut in the laughably-titled "Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime&... Read Full Review

Definitely the most enjoyable bejeweled clone available. If you don't mind bejeweled, replayability is awesome.

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords

Definitely the most enjoyable bejeweled clone available. If you don't mind bejeweled, replayability is awesome.

Welcome to the wonderful world of puzzle RPGs. I'm not talking to the gamer, I'm talking to the developers. What easier way to make a game than to take a relatively small time RPG series (Warlords: Battlecry), combine ... Read Full Review

    Final Fantasy

Only get this game if you have never played Final Fantasy I, or if you want to play this portably and only have a PSP.

Final Fantasy I, the game that started it all. Or, at least started the FF craze in Japan. The US craze didn't really start until FF II (FF IV in Japan). Anyways, the point is, here it is again. Updated graphics/addi... Read Full Review

A mildly narcotic RPG that shifts player planning from character development to dungeon development.

    Chronicle of Dungeon Maker

A mildly narcotic RPG that shifts player planning from character development to dungeon development.

The very simplistic premise is you are a dungeon designer, newly-arrived at a distant suburb of fantasy Kingdom X. Finally, a profession that logically explains the existence of "dungeons" in the world of RPGs... Read Full Review
