To tell you truthfully, I hope that the PS3 does so amazingly well JUST so I can see all these business types fumble over themselves with praise for it. Nothing would make my day any better than the day they do that. I mean Sony has moved in some strange directions with the high price, lack of rumble, and their PR system in the beginning, but honestly...if Sony wasnt fumbling the ball like this do you really think that the other consoles would be enjoying this amazing lack of criticisms for their consoles. I honestly do not believe that they would.
Besides I mean from the article, you can tell that the only game he really played was Wii Sports, or various other minigame centric games. There is still a very large element of the traditional controller, at least spiritually. The controller(w/ nunchuk) still maintains one analog stick, has two less buttons than the Sixaxis, and 1 more than Gamecube controller. While it is an innovative control scheme, it is hardly the over-simplified game control scheme that this article makes it sound like.

Sony originally wanted the PS3 to be a router also. one line in, and two lines out. the gaming press and consumers said that it was unnecessary so they scraped that idea.
Though i do wish that they would have kept the usb ports on the back...it would just make the console look so much more clean
