Man, i hear you and second what you say. None of my friends own a PS3, only a Wii or 360 for them, so sadly I'm all alone. Anybody feel free to add.

To tell you truthfully, I hope that the PS3 does so amazingly well JUST so I can see all these business types fumble over themselves with praise for it. Nothing would make my day any better than the day they do that. I mean Sony has moved in some strange directions with the high price, lack of rumble, and their PR system in the beginning, but honestly...if Sony wasnt fumbling the ball like this do you really think that the other consoles would be enjoying this amazing lack of criticisms for their consoles. I honestly do not believe that they would.

Besides I mean from the article, you can tell that the only game he really played was Wii Sports, or various other minigame centric games. There is still a very large element of the traditional controller, at least spiritually. The controller(w/ nunchuk) still maintains one analog stick, has two less buttons than the Sixaxis, and 1 more than Gamecube controller. While it is an innovative control scheme, it is hardly the over-simplified game control scheme that this article makes it sound like.

[QUOTE="8Slick8"]everyone and their mother knows thats the E3 2005 model but now looking back why so many ethernet outlets?eclipsed4utoo

Sony originally wanted the PS3 to be a router also. one line in, and two lines out. the gaming press and consumers said that it was unnecessary so they scraped that idea.

Though i do wish that they would have kept the usb ports on the back...it would just make the console look so much more clean

I would definately have to give to Mario(mainly Super Mario 3), and Samus for getting me into gaming. But Resident Evil turned my attention away from my snes to my ps1. (remembers the absolutely atrocious voice acting) oh yah and duck hunt... so many hours spent on that game...that dog is a monster! :o

There been no problems with mine, and it's a launch PS3. Plus its been running for about 18 days straight now thanks to Folding@Home, so I'd say its pretty reliable.

I like the idea of the tilt to peek around a wall that could work well. One thing that find myself doing though is always twisting the controller to melee in resistance now... sadly it doesnt work.

Ummm...not to be nitpicky or anything but the NES versions are not the ones on MGS3:Subsistence. Those are the MSX versions of the games, as you can tell by the fact that it has Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, and not Snakes Revenge. Besides the MSX versions of the games are so much better as you actually fight a Metal Gear in the first one, and the Second just doesnt suck so hard. Sorry I'll end my nitpicky rant here now. :)

Nope it wouldnt irritate me that they dropped it, it would just get me mad at myself for not being patient and waiting for a price drop. But seriously it's pretty comparable to the Halo or GeOW maps, in that they are out now for this much but if you wait theyre free! I mean I could save money waiting or have the newest, latest now! Which is what I want, and thats my own terrible problem! :)

Here's a post on the drive speeds for the blu-ray vs dvd argument

 http://www.gamespot.com/pages/profile/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=23916169&user=skektek

so its about 50Mb/s, or 5MB/s slower overall compared to the 360's drive.
