When I hear the word Atari I don't think of the system and games I grew up on. The true Atari died out when Nolan Bushnell left the company in the 80's. Atari is now just some company owned by some European interests. Who cares about Atari? When's the last time someone said "Wow, I wonder what Atari is releasing this quarter?!" Let the name Atari die and be remembered for what it actually was: An innovative, rebellious, pot-driven, hippie/nerd fest in a California warehouse.

I wanted to cool down my 360 AND place it vertically so of course I figured the Pelican Fan Stand would be a dream come true. I bought it for $20 at Gamestop. Well it does 1 out 2 well, it holds the console vertically. Forget about the fan. It's a small chintzy fan in the base of the stand that does nothing. The Big M is telling us to buy a Big N....once we own a 360 that is. Great strategy since the 360 is similar to the PS3 and the Wii is supposedly no match for either system. It's a great complementary system.

Wow, 360 games are super expensive. $60 for a new game?! "Budget" games are $40?! The cool counterbalance to this "investment" is the XBL demos. I've saved TONS of money on garbage like Madden 2006 and Kameo by trying the demos. Phew!

I'm worried about all these crashing 360's. My 2 week old 360 is running fine but my launch PS2 was one of the famous defective units. Lesson here is never buy a console at launch. Either that or don't let yourself get nervous about fanboys that keep their 360's on 20 hours per day in crazed Elder Scrolls marathons.
