walking after her aggressively or walking in front of her and asking her, "Why are you doing this?" or you put your hand against her locker as she tries to turn away and give you the cold shoulder, who do you tend to side with?

I usually side with the guy for being assertive and sociable because the girl is being really mean.

You sound like an arrogant prick.

If I ever become a public figure in any way, I'm going to let this story leak out (although I'm sure the people who were there will leak it anyway), and I won't be ashamed at all. I stood up for myself, and I made this thread to get just a little bit of support, so I'm kinda surprised that everyone's against me. *chuckles*

Anyway, I did the unconventional, but right thing. It's getting a negative spin because nobody's tough or gritty anymore and people forgot what the glory days of hardnosed business in America were like.

You guys are hyper sensitive. No wonder you're not siding with me. Y'all think with your emotions, so you're taking the floor managers' side because I took it "to an intense level".

Smh... Lemme guess, your favorite games are FPS's and you can't handle hardcore platformers/RPGs.

Lmao seriously? Black marked?

I'm actually slightly worried about that happening, but I don't think it's possible because retail's such a disparate field from teaching/education. What would worry me immensely is if I had a student who was somehow related to the girl I cursed out, and the student told her and she raised a huge complaint or something, but that's so farfetched.

You're calling ME the elitist wanker? Lol... I wasn't the one power tripping over gently tossing an empty box from a seven foot ladder and then saying, "You have to listen to me."

Believe me, if you guys knew me and you knew the two floor managers that I got into it with, you'd befriend me. :)

I mean I could even give you guys the place's phone number if ya want. I'm not afraid at all. The only way this was gonna blow up and go viral is if a customer recorded it while it was going on and uploaded it to YouTube. Quite frankly, I was in the right, and we all know it, but with a viral video like that employers would not hire me because of the feminist and liberal agenda saying that you can't act like an alpha male who doesn't take orders from everybody. As much as America is purportedly a democratic republic there are still several power structure systems in place that make it more like an oligarchy than anything else and I badly exposed the most recognizable one (retail/customer service/low-level hierarchy of power), and I'll only "look bad" because likeminded employers want to maintain their power for fear of having somebody as smart as myself become their equal.

No, it has nothing to do with feminism, the liberal agenda, or alpha males. Nobody would hire you because nobody wants to work with a douche bag.

I can see where the douche bag perception comes from, but that's not what I'm about actually. It's a shame that all the workers there didn't get to know me because now they'll be talking about this story for weeks to come, and they'll fallaciously portray me in a very negative light.

I forsee an unemployed future for you, if that is your general attitude.

I wonder what would happen if people in the field you studied in would find out about this story. I hope they do, society doesn't really need people with your attitude.

They will never find out. I'm glad I'm finally on a career track path.

Even if you disagree you should always respect the wishes of your boss. Should your boss or job make you unhappy then leave.

I see what you're saying, but the truth of the matter is that this is at-will employment. Retail really is nothing more than a watered down version of a Chinese sweatshop. You're asked to behave as if you're in a gentlemen's only club while working for pennies and being controlled by your "superiors". I mean literally controlled, as you can see by my story.

So while you can say that I was disrespectful, the entire environment (and my floor managers) is disrespectful. Retail works like medieval serfdom and basically, based on my qualifications and my much greater job opportunity at a place that could actually advance my career, I decided I was tired of being bossed around over trivial matters like tossing an empty box down to the floor from the top of a ladder, so I rebelled. That's all it comes down to. Sure, I could have left quietly, but what does it matter? If I'm leaving, I have enough pride to give them a piece of my mind knowing there aren't any long-term ramifications for my actions.

In order for one to act "unprofessionally" while leaving a job, the job itself has to actually be professional.

1) They literally aren't qualified to do anything else.

2) They were employed in a much better profession, but some sad circumstances forced them out and/or they failed at it.

3) They're just working to work, which is a bad idea because it's healthier for these grannies to stay home and watch Seinfeld reruns.

Yeah, you are

Haha I figured. I didn't bother to show up to work yesterday nor will I today. There's nothing to be said. You only come back if you think you messed up, and you want to keep some sliver of hope of staying employed there, and I don't believe in either of those.
