Seriously, you guys? Microsoft has "solid marketing strategy"? What other products have you purchased in which the company told you to **** yourself and then was like "oh, wait.. you won't buy my product.. here's everything that the opposition offers but 100$ more!" ...
@D_Silvester @buccomatic The only thing I agree with you lot as that they are both being convoluted at times. The main point is that Tom has an issue with the paradigm of modern FPS games and is taking it out on Warfighter, which is unfair. In regards to new memes: http://qkme.me/3pmubi
I've lost a ton of respect for Tom after seeing this interview. He's been pushing the fact that 'war is hell, war is more than regenerating health and respawning, war is not fun' all interview -- and the fact of the matter is that modern 'war' games, especially those of the FPS genre are all about fast-paced entertainment. CoD, Halo and Battlefield and many other shooters now rely on regenerating health and respawning to make matches fast pace and fun. You can't rag on a single developer at E3 without placing blame on the whole genre's paradigm, Tom. I figured as a senior editor you'd be unbiased enough to understand that, apparently not.Greg, on the other hand, is awesome. He basically says that 'this is not a simulator, we are a modern FPS game, and if you don't like that, we even have a hardcore mode to drive up the realism', and he's damned polite about it.Someone needs to be axed.
