Thanks man, Yeah I hate to part ways with the collection for sure, but the odds of my invention taking off are pretty high. So I can rebuild from scratch if I have to just to get this off the ground. My PS3 has 150 games downloaded on it, all of which I can redownload, but what hurts the worst is games I've had since I was a kid...or took a long time to find. Crossing my fingers all goes according to planHonestly it depends on what kinds of games you have and the condition they are in. It seems as though you are a collector. So, I'm guessing you have some quality titles. Anyways, good luck with the patent and congratulations :) I'm not quite there yet... I dont know if I could ever sell my collection to buy a patent, but if it ever gets down to that, I guess I would have to consider which is more important to me. A lifelong collection of games, or the possibility of an endless cashflow that I could possibly buy everything back and then some.
Anyways though, if your collection leans heavily on sports titles, you will be very disappointed. Also, I hope for your sake most of the stuff is complete in box. I buy and sell on Ebay, so if you want, you can pm me a list of your stuff (just make sure you save the list so you can copy and paste to your auction) and I can give you a good idea where to start, and the worth of the entire collection.
Larger lots do tend to go cheaper then individual items, bit it saves a lot of hassle. Anyways though, I'm here to help if you need it. Once again, congratulations on being ready to step into the world of patents :)

I'm in the process of buying an American and European patent on an invention and it's going to cost me around $13,000. So I'm considering selling my video game collection, and the world's largest Darth Maul collection!Just out of curiosity why are you wanting to sell your collection? Money, more space, don't have much time to play them anymore?

I have no clue where to start with a price point, I've never seen a collection like mine up for auction.Has anybody sold a large collection before? Below is some of the stuff, any opinions on what I should start asking?
NES- 45 games
SNES- 25 games
N64- 50 games
Gamecube- 5 games
Wii- 10 games
Genesis- 75 games
Saturn- 25 games
Dreamcast- 34 games
3DO- 48 games
PS1- 15 games
PS2- 62 games
PS3- 64 games
Xbox- 5 games
I'm not trying to sell this on here moderators so chill out! I'm simply asking how much should I ask and has anybody done this? All my systems are in excellent shape and the 3DO,Genesis,SNES,PS1 are the miniature versions.
Example
If Mario Kart and Midnight club had a baby youd have - Blur
Metroid + Zelda + God of war = Darksiders
Killzone + Halo = Resistance
Got any other game babies ?
Moderator note: We don't allow list/poll threads on here. Sorry.
Dude I've got a 3do and like 50 games..I still play it, Road rash is amazing!I should break mine out. Put it next to the 3DO.

What was the first game/games you picked up when you got the system? I actually held off when they first came out because there were only 2 games available. Also what was your favorite game of all time on the system?
Mario 64
Starfox 64
Goldeneye
Turok
Conker was one of my favorites, only because it was so outlandish for Nintendo
I called him kid after the assumption I was illegally running around to my entire neighborhood handing out passwords...he proceeded to call my friends lazy and cheap..nowhere in there do you see me attack him. He just wanted to argue with somebodyEh. I never buy DLC or anything so until the gaming industry starts forcing me to pay for absolutely every little thing, or they start figuring some way to nickel and dime you to death, it won't bother me too much. Quite simply, the day gaming gets too expensive/ridiculous is the day I quit, or at least hold off for a while. And to detroithardcore, I'm pretty sure Reptylus was referring to when you called him a "kid" as the point in the conversation in which you lost your manners.

[QUOTE="detroithardcore"][QUOTE="Reptylus"]@The_saint: Online passes are attached to your account. Just register that one on your friends console and he's good to go without buying an own pass.ReptylusThat will cover you for 4 friends, if your account is on 4 systems already you wont be able to do this without having them deactivate and delete your account. We were talking about borrowing games to a friend and going over for a gaming session. Not about (illegally) sharing usership rights with the whole neighboorhood. yeah this is me totally losing manners
PREACH IT!I think the gaming industry is screwing gamers hardcore, especially people who by digital. You are paying money and getting nothing in return. One can argue that you are getting game, but that game is simply a file, nothing more. You can;t sell it, trade it in, or loan it to anyone, it is locked in your console and if the console dies so does your entire investment in your pseudo game library. With physical distribution you have a case, manual and disk(s) that is yours and has value. The game industry should be stopped and anyone who is opposed to giving money to someone and getting virtually nothing in return should not buy digital copies of games. The day all games go digital is the day I quit buying new games.
