First off, I'd like to point out that Oblivion has been out for over 2 years. This was one of the first XBox 360 games to appear on the XBox 360. This game didn't just come out last week. This game really tested the XBox 360 machine early to see how the XBox could handle this game. I think it did a damn good job. It's easier to look back at games to find flaws you wouldn't initially find. For example, at the time, many of us thought Final Fantasy 7 was perfect. But looking back on FF7 after years of its' release, we can find flaws. I want to go on the record saying I love FF7, but looking back on it, you can see it had flaws. But there were more pros than cons to that game.

Firstly, noone cares about graphics in this discussion. It's not about the graphics.
Secondly, yes we did notice these flaws upon release, and in fact have been complaining about them for years.
The only reason it's all coming out now in hindsight is because there are too many people praising Fallout 3 for no good reason despite all that is clearly wrong with it. And the only response to criticism seems to be "STFU!!! Oblivion was best ev4r!! Fallout 3 will be too!!!"
So we're just here to say no. In fact, Oblivion wasn't the best game ever put out, not even close, and while every game does have flaws, that's a tired old rebuttal that's as pointless as any other "My opinion invalidates yours" argument. Yes, every game will have flaws, whether minor or major, but Oblivions are huge and great in number considering its being hailed as one of the best RPGs of our time, I find this outright insulting.
Yes, FFVII had it's flaws, but even now (graphics aside) it's as close to perfect as a JRPG could want to get and fully deserves its praise. Oblivion does not.
We're just here to break peoples nostalgia for Oblivion because we're sick of explaining all of this in the countless "ZOMG Oblivion was great!!!" topics that keep getting posted by what could easily pass for Bethesda forum plants to drum up interest in Fallout 3.
