Here is part of my conclusion of the essay:
The main goal of artificial intelligence in video games is to create opponents that challenge gamers with realistic behaviours and provide a varied game experience. This has not been possible so far with gamers not wanting advanced AI until now along with limitations of both hardware and software. The main goal also cannot be achieved through the use of scripted events as such games have implemented. This destroys the replay value as the surprises that took the gamer are expected the second time through along with that tactics needed to fight off the enemy.
Hey im not going to give all my work away, but it was extremly fun researchin on such games and although there wernt any official papers on the matter which is a shame as such standerisation of game ai would benefit it, i would recommend such subject for those who are given the chance!Any questions on the topic of "AI in FPS" i would be happy to answer. now gotta go, early morning tomorrow
