After watching so many parties I basically broke it down to this please feel free to debate it because this is merely opinion:

A republican in office uses our tax dollars to expand on the US and try to gain more ground/resources.

A democrat in office uses our tax dollars to develop, stabilize and grow on the ground/resources we already have.
