4 months ago I had only 1 3ds game, now I have 4 games. Fire emblem, etrian odyssey 4 and smt soul hackers are my new games. I play only jrpg and srpg games, so handheld systems are more important to me then consoles. Now that the 3ds is getting these games there is a reason to buy the 3ds, games fuel hardware sales and that's why it takes at least a year for new systems to catch on.
As long as it's just one of several options and it's done fairly, then I think it would be a good idea. I don't like being forced into unwanted options that make me second guest if I am even going to get the product.
Subsidized consoles prices with a 1 or 2 year service would probably be very popular. Lower initial cost with a low monthly service fee sounds very fair so long as the service is useful. That's the first smart thing I have heard pachter say, lets hope this is a option for the PS4 come November.
The first year of new game systems are commonly slow and pachter is always anti nintendo, so this article is just another lame duck about a over done topic.
Doesn't matter if orth is gone or not, always online equals no xbox 720 purchase. That's what people are mad about, what orth said just added fuel to the fire. If MS thinks this is over they are wrong.
