I've had 10 controllers. 4 for my upstairs living room PS3, 4 for my downstairs living room PS3 and 2 for my bedroom PS3 and none of them have had the battery stop charging. The batteries are lithium Ion batteries which have an 11-12 year lifespan.

I prefer Sonys. Samsungs are good too, but they lack the sound quality of Bravia's. So unless you have a home theater system, I would pick a Sony.

If you have the funds, Best Buy is currently running a deal where you can buy a 46" Sony Bravia KDL - 46V5100 (1080p and 120hz) for $950, and you get a free PS3 slim, a game (Uncharted 2, LBP GOTY, or the new R&C), as well as a $30 blu-ray movie (can't remember the selection). If you sell the PS3 for $250, it comes down to $700, and you could even make that $600 if you sell the game and the movie too (not including sales tax, of course). I got this deal, and am really satisfied with the TV, and I'm selling the PS3 this weekend (Keeping the game and movie lol).

If you don't have the funds, then I would recommend this Sony Bravia. The guy I recommended it to on this thread bought it, and liked it so much that he sent me a message thanking me for my recommendation. So I would choose this as an alternative to the Best Buy deal.
