[QUOTE="dk00111"][QUOTE="BrettB7400"] If you're going to buy a new tv, why not wait until black friday. There are going to be some sweet deals on hd tvs. jimm895
That's what I was going to do, but then I read an article and found out that half of the TV's sold on black friday are dumbed down versions of other TVs made especially for the occasion. That's why the prices are so low.

Not really because it would cost more to produce the small number of items for a one day sale. The products sold on any sale day is the exact same thing that was in stock the day before.

I can't find the exact article at the moment, but I will give you an example. At Best Buy, they are selling a Sony Bravia KDL40S504 for $663. This TV is just a "dumbed down" version of their S5100 series. You won't find that TV on the sony website, and if you do a Google search, 90% of the results have to do with black friday. No reviews, or product descriptions, just black friday.

Edit: Here is the article I found the information on.

Most PS1 games on PSN are $6 each, but the "better ones", like MGS and RE, cost $10.

Here's what I dug up:

Sony Bravia

LG

Vizio

Those are much better alternatives to those that you listed (30,000:1 and 50,000:1 contrast rations instead of a measly 6500:1 :P)

I think you should do some research, especially for the models that I listed and perhaps some others. You don't want to go out and spend $500 on a TV, only to realize that you could've bought something much better somewhere else. Also note that on Amazon, you don't pay tax.

[QUOTE="dk00111"]

How much is your budget? I think if your going to spend money on a tv, you might as well spend a little more and get a 1080p.

My budget only around $500, I could possibly go higher but I'm trying to stay around $500.

I'm doing a search on Amazon for you, these seem like better options (higher resolution/contrast ratio). I'm still searchin though, so I'll tell you if I find something better. http://www.amazon.com/LG-32LH30-32-Inch-1080p-Gloss/dp/B001V5J7OI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=tv&qid=1258516144&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Bravia-KDL-32S5100-32-Inch-1080p/dp/B001T9N0D0/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=tv&qid=1258516144&sr=1-6

Honestly, I was hoping more for an installable "app" that let you check your facebook, instead of using the horrifically slow browser. Hopefuly this is what they meant whent they said:

"This is just the beginning of our integration with Facebook and we are looking forward to adding new features enhancing the experience in future updates."

Well, I don't know if you know this or not, but GameSpot allows their employees to play a game at home, return it to the store, reseal it, and sell it as new. That would explain the smudges. :P
