genjuroT Posted Jun 5, 2010 3:35 pm GMT i think commodore and/or amiga should have been in this.i still own an amiga 500 and 2000 with over 300 games sitting behind me.a lot of big companies experimented with amiga.i could name a ton of games that everyone should be familiar with that came out for amiga.thundercats, where is the world is carmen sandiego, dungeon master, eye of the beholder 2,sierra's king's quest, police quest, space quest.sid meier's pirates!,star wars, bard's tale 1&2 leisure suit larry, robocop, double dragon, gauntlet 2,lemmings,monkeys island space wrecked(by konami),...k thats enough shuffling through my floppies.i could go on though... WHAT HE SAID!
for anyone interested here is a site for all the old amiga games, some true classics plus has an emulator so you can play them again coolness + ps i loved gunship the apache simulator www.lemonamiga.com
i can remember the sheen104(pong clone) on the black & white tv playing against my family. Then the atari 2600, with so many games to choose from pacman, pitfall, berzerk, river raid etc. Then the colecovision with zaxxon. after that my first real computer sega sc3000h and enjoyed text adventures like transylvania,it still used cartridge games aswell like yamato. Next was a commodore vic20 not so great with games. Then the commodore 64(actually i had the commodore128 ), i had over 300 games on this computer, the most memorable games i can think of being wizball, impossible mission, test drive. after that then age of the ibm computer(a beefy nimrod 286) with great games like sword of fargal, alleycat, the d&d series, at the same time i had an amiga computer with heaps of games again(lots cracked as was the norm)like cannon fodder, populos, space harrier, alien syndrome, battletech (i could go on for days listing games). then consoles reappeared with the sega/nitendo but i went to a playstation, i remember seeing twisted metal and wipeout at the begining and thinking "look at thoses graphics & how fast these games are". after the ps2 came along and stepped up again, then the ps3, i just cant wait for what comes next. i have spent weeks, months, years? playing video games in this time and it is always a great fun,so to finish(a long read i know) games from the beginning to now need to be remembered and some revered, so its great for gamespot to do a history month(only 1 month?) cheers guys
