cspiffo: "It's also because the PS3 can't output these games at anything higher than 720p. They are playing to the LCD." I do not see how liquid crystal displays have any bearing on the point you just tried to make, but that's besides the point. I was just stating that whether the source of these images was 720p, 1080p or even higher (such as 1440p), it won't make a difference because the images we are seeing on this website are all shown at the same resolution (786 by 442 if i'm correct). Source resolution has no bearing on the comparison we are seeing.

@ riffraff420, "maybe i am the only one who saw that they are running the consoles at 720P??? when 1080p looks way better and from the screen shot's the Difference is so minor compared to the dollar/performance ratio." The screenshots we are seeing may have been taken from different source resolutions, but the resolution we are seeing them at on this website is the same - doesn't matter if the source was 720p or 1080p.

its all well and good testing vista with Dx9 games, but the focus of Vista was not for that; the focus is on a superior gaming system using Dx10. So, to those of you who aren't impressed with vista's Dx9 performance..... you're not supposed to be impressed with it. XP was always gonna be quicker than Vista for Dx9 games, that has been said for months now, and all due to the fact that Vista is constantly running the 3D GUI in the background when gaming, or doing anything for that fact! It's the new features that you get with Dx10 that make Vista truly something to look forward to!
