This is hands down my favorite game this year! Yes you should buy it I played through it and without stopping to catch my breath im playing through it again and im the kind of person that rarely has the attention span to play through a game twice.... It is so in depth and interesting that there is no way to describe its greatness don't even think about letting the 8.5 throwing you off I didn't buy it because of this so my brother did and I havent let him play it yet he will have to get past wrex to do so(wrex is the best thing that has happened to sci fi sence hahn solo)...
yeah i think gears of war was set in a dark much smaller more linear setting with no usable flying vehicles no more than 20 characters on screen and halo is set in a huge vibrent world where the levels stretch for miles with huge battles (with who knows how many characters on screen) that rage from the surface of the planet into the stratos sphere and beyond if i were to compare resident evil 4 to halo 2 to i would personally say it looked better but i would also so say that there was way more going on with halo 2 so it is not necessarilly the graphics that make the halo games great it is the fact that they are a dynamic fun to exist in thrill ride that actually does look good for what they are doing in them. and for those of us who played the beta we know that if multiplayer looks this great what will single player final version look like am damn fiddly freaking amazing
My point is that there are people out there running all day and getting nothing for it and it is costing them as much or more than something like Xbox Live
