Just bought myself a 40GB w/Spiderman PS3 and really loving it. The tech is really good. I like the auto load disk drive, the almost sensor like power up button, and the Blu Ray drive. I also like PSN store too. It has a good dose of demos and HD video (really like the 1080P trailers).
Gaming for the most part is much like the 360, with the exception of GT5 HD (not getting prologue because it's a waste of money until the real game comes out). This game has the most life-like graphics I've have ever seen. For a while I thought Forza 2 really was good until I played this game at 1080P on my 42" panny plasma. Store Kiosk running this game in 1080i don't do this game justice. Can't wait for the final GT5 to come out.
Played the demo of Resistance and I think it looks and plays a lot like COD2 & COD3. Overall pretty bland boring graphics with pretty bad texture. The game controls weird with the PS3's lightweight controller. I was expecting better graphics from this game with the hype surrounding this game.
Played the demo Ratchet & Clank and it looks and play almost the same as on the PS2. Graphics was also a let down. It didn't seem to improve much. Gameplay was still basically hitting and shooting to collect mechanical coin things.
Still need to try demos of Uncharted and Heavenly Sword. In case people are wondering why I'm only playing demos and not the real game, it's because I originally bought the PS3 for Blu-Ray player to replace my now sold HD-DVD add on. All of the games right now are not worthy of my $60. I'm only getting MSG4, FFXIII, GT5, and maybe Killzone 2 if it doesn't suck like the first one. I know MSG4 and FFXIII will be good because of the previous games.
Overall I was pretty impress with the system. I really like how it's pretty quite like everyone always says and it doesn't have a huge brick like the 360. Though the games aren't all that great now maybe better ones will get release in the future such as MSG4 and FFXIII. I'll still probably buy most multiplatform games for my 360 though because I like the 360's controller better. And hopefully this system is more reliable than the 360. The 360 is great system but it is such a unreliable peice of hardware because I have like 10 relative who's 360 broke. I sure hope my is not next. Damn peice of...

It's probably just me, but I had more enjoyable time with Resistance then Halo series, or even my Half-Life 2 on PC.
Then again if you are still using that mentality of: "oh look at the score, it's a killer!" then nothing will change your one sided thinking.
Halo or especially Halo 3 is not a killer, it's a good game, a good FPS game. The only reason you're being so simple minded it's because you are brainwashed by Hype, Media and advertisement. Until you realise that, there is no such thing on PS3 as "Halo Killer" lol..

No, I'm not a PS3 fanboy. I own both consoles. And there's no way in hell that Halo 3 is a better game than BioShock. It's not even deserving of 9.0's as it's just more of the same. That's right, you've been playing pretty much the same damn thing (albeit with minor changes here and there) for 6 years... and it's still getting those high 9's. And I know this next comment may seem like a joke, but why did Twilight Princess get an 8.8? Because it's "more of the same"? Nice logic there, Gamespot. Oh wait, MS just paid more. Well I played Bioshock and I thought Halo 3 was the better of the two. Bioshock is a great game but it does not offer the same replay value as Halo 3.Â
I agree that the game should be well done, after all Killzone is a great shooter and a sequel that is done properly would be a great addition to PS3
I disagree that It needs 9.5 match up to be that superb game. Numbers are useless when it comes to good game, opinions are the only thing that sparks such negativity.
Don't look at the game from that point of view.. would you buy KZ2 if it got 8.0?
I know I would even if it made lower. the point is good games get good scores, bad games don't. What we have seen so far from MGS4 or KZ2, do you believe it will be a bad game? I certainly don't.

So are you saying that you would play a game that got a rating of 2/10.Bet you wouldn't. Like it or not reviews scorematter and should give you idea of what to expect from a game. Oh and by the way developers of Killzone better get cracken on the gameplay of Killzone 2 because the first one suck major ass. Though there is no denying that Killzone 2's graphic look great. I just hope they don't put too much effort in graphicsand not enough in the game gameplay.
I date the rebate in 8/12/07 and I know it suppose to take between 6-8 weeks but I'm just curious to see if anyone actually got them. Hopefully this rebate is not flaky like some rebates I did in the past because I will go to the end of this world to get my 5 HD DVDs. It was the only reason why I bought the 360 HD DVD for my computer anyways.
Anyways I'm thinking about getting a PS3, mostly watching Blu-Ray movies for now and maybe play some games like MGS4, FFX13, Killzone 2, GT5, etc when it comes out. The reason why I want to get it now is because of the 5 Blu-Ray movie thing and the fact that I might be able to geta 60gb for $450 through discount. Anyways those of you who have watch movies 1080p, how much better are they compared to upscaled DVDs bacause that is what I'm doing right now. I have a 360 and plan to game most of the mutiplatform games on it. But now I want a hd player and I was going to buy the 360 add-on but I feel like the HD-DVD format will eventuall die out. So basically what I asking is are Blu-Ray movies way better then upscaled movies and to those that have movies from the selection of free movies whos the video quality on them?
