I rented this game to try it out. Being from Philly, I was interested in exploring the simulated city. Not possible. It's blocked into sections, so apparently you have to traverse sections via story progress. The game will bore the hell out of you with horrible, frequent slowdowns and stops for memory access and the voice acting is terrible. I personally found the combat to be generic and unexciting. . It's like a really bad remake of 'Red Dawn'.
Kickstarter is pointing the way to a new kind of economy. We can avoid two catastrophes: socialistic economics/government and faschist economics/government (not much difference), either of which could happen in America at any moment. Anyone interested in the ideas of AnarchoCapitalism can gain a great deal of inspiration and entrepeneurial energy from an idea like Kickstarter. Another poster here made the point that bypassing the publishers is exactly what the industry needs. Yes, it is. Furthermore, if Chris Taylor can pull this off, he might save PC gaming. He might save gaming over all. He is the antichrist of parasitic organisms like EA (Electronic Artists).
@1234ritchie I like the New Republic era. I really enjoyed the Kyle Katarn games. I would like to see a kind of Star Wars 'splinter cell', where someone infiltrates the Imperial Remnant the way Sam Fisher does and takes out Stormtroopers during their conversations and gets rid of their bodies. Imagine what they could do.
@CarlitosWay @naydub I'm disappointed in what Lucas did to Karen Traviss' amazing mandalorian novels. He completely retconned some of the best creativity seen in all of SW, including a language, with one rather poor Clone Wars episode that did, really, nothing for the series.
@Bumblebee1138 I'm very disappointed they haven't put out another Xwing/TIE simulator, but I find other things to do until they decide there's a market for it. Flight combat sims of all kinds have been somewhat missing from the scene for a long time. I can't believe there isn't anyone who wants new ones.
@CarlitosWay @sale985 Boba Fett's been around a long time. Also, there was a Boba Fett / Bounty Hunter game for the Nintendo Game Cube. Kinda takes it way back.
@jaycrockett In one of the Darth Maul novels, some non-sentient, giant, globular life form lives in the center of the planet, and I think I remember it being Force-null, which might blanket out the force deeper in the levels. There are also animals in the SW galaxy called Ysalamiri, which cancel out the Force within a meter of them.
@slimskelter You haven't read my other posts. I'M NATIVE AMERICAN. My father's family has been here thousands of years. YES, the American Military has a LONG HISTORY of unjustifiably invading other countries and taking what the government or a corporation wanted. I don't watch TV unless I'm in public. I get most of my information from independent sources on the internet and yahoo. I'm an anarchist. Being Native, I have a different perspective on history and go well past what most Americans believe about their own history. If you don't think American military history is negative, read what Major General Smedley D. Butler, USMC wrote, 'War is a Racket', which is available for free on the net. America pillages other countries for resources and wealth. It stages incidents to justify wars, for example the Navy has admitted faking the Gulf of Tonkin episode to help justify Viet Nam, and similar incidents launched the Mexican-American war and WW I. Yes, 1% of the country owns almost all the wealth. This has been well-documented even in mainstream media. It's not hard to prove. You're yet another American who believes what he or she is fed about America and its history but questions and investigates nothing.
@moviequest14 You forget that there are people among you that stand apart from you because you swept them aside. In any case, I didn't make that initial post to bring up all this politik, but because I agreed with the original poster that people complain far too much about game content. People got defensive. I did come on strong, but I stand by what I said. Else, Americans would have vastly more control over what goes on in this country. This of course isn't very relevant to vidgames, so for practical reasons ONLY, I should've tapered my response. I happened to be coming off an argument on Facebook. Not the best way to spend my day. I don't apologize for my opinion but I apologize to Gamespot and the original poster for bringing it here.
@chrisser665 I was agreeing with him about people whining about games being imperfect, actually, I don't see how you missed that. Anyway, this all gets much worse, as you've probably noticed.
