Q: How do you look back at this point on the differences between the PS 3 and the Xbox 360?
A: You'll have a hard time if you port without having a PS 3 game in mind when you created the 360 version. That is where a lot of complaints are coming from. They created the 360 engine with a unified memory architecture in mind, with the embedded frame buffer with its advantages and disadvantages, and not thinking too much in early stages about multicore. If you try to get that over to the PS 3, you're in for a bad surprise. The PS 3 is all about streamlining about the two different memory pools. They are separate. You don't have to do tiling because you don't have an embedded frame buffer. All of these advantages of the PS 3 turn into disadvantages if you don't start making your game on the PS 3. Hence the griping. If you create first on the PS 3, it is pretty easy to port it to the 360. A lot of companies coming on board now will probably start on the PS 3 and move to the 360. The lucky thing for us is we didn't have to think about the 360 at all.

no, gears of war has bigger levels and better graphics.

You have to understand that Uncharted never loads, has many more colors, thousands of more animations, and is streaming a lush jungle enrvironments, realistic water, etc.

All while maintaining a fluid framerate and having amazing looking visuals. All of that, plus a cool artsyle pushes is to Gears level graphically...even though it may not push as many polys. 

GEARS OF WARS NEVERLOADS EITHER

gears of war has better physics and textures and water physics.

"Ea said ps3 is less powerful" ~ So, why are they developing Burnout Paradise for the PS3. Oh right, EA sucks so they shouldnt count.

Those graphics are amazing.

As for memory, it depends what you do with the memory, not how much you max it out.

lair looks like dogpoo and they went through hell getting these horrible graphics to fit in system memory? LOL=ps3=joke.

Both games have completely different art style. The enviornments are bigger in Uncharted and the characters are more propotioned and textured more realistically. A: Yeah, but didn't we have this conversation eight years ago and five years ago? Honestly, yes we spent the last four or six weeks going through hell getting Lair into memory.

So does that mean PlayStation 3 couldn't handle the game? When asked, Preston skillfully dodged the question, but implied the answer was "no."

more dev time, plus graphics will be downgraded even ubi confirmed it because less megabytes of memory to store texture data.

this will be ps3's first unreal engine 3.0 game release.

Every developer acknowledges its superiority yet lemmings are still too stupid to.

dude, ubisoft said ps3 is less powerful, Ea said ps3 is less powerful, valve said ps3 sucks, epicgames said xbox360 is more powerful, sega said 360 is more powerful.

Actually ubi has not said which is more powerful and EA has said ps3 is more powerful hence it becoming the flagship console.  Keep dreaming bud, maybe your mom and dad will get you a ps3 for christmas, or maybe even santa. 

 

Both Team Ninja, and Factor 5 have stated that the PS3 is able to push certain limits, and do things that the 360 just cannot do. No matter though, this guy will deny, and shoot down every bit of proof you put in from of of him that proves him wrong because it is obvious that his attitude is such that even if God himself came down and told him that Uncharted was indeed more of an overall technical achievment than Gears of War was, he would probably just dig up the worst sceenshot that he could find of the game in it's STILL UNFINISHED STATE. And then he would put it next to the best screenshots of Gears that he can find, and then he would turn to God and say, " NOPE, IT IS A FACT OF LIFE. LOOK AT THESE SCREENSHOTS, THE TEXTURES LOOK LIKE AN N64 GAME....GOD PHAILZ!!!....GOD PWNED!!!":lol:

lol,  child grow the hell up, btw gears of war pwns any ps3 game's graphics.

team ninja took back those comments, plus EA and ubisoft said xbox360 more powerful.
