im thinking about gettin a ps3 for christmas, but im not sure which way to go as i live in the uk; a home region 40gb or a region 1 80gb?

i missed out on the 60gb, and for some reason im getting really hung up on the memory card readers and especially the chrome lettering. the hard drive space is not an issue, as i will probably upgrade regardless in the near future.

basically, what disadvantages are there for anything (i.e. films, games, power internet etc.) and what extra stuff do i need if i were to get an american 80gb console?

i tried cleaning it off, and it definately reduced the effects, but it still has some problmes.

how do i do a full hard reset of the cmos?

ever since i have had PES 6, it would on occaisson produce a huge spike of colour that protruded from the player itself, as if it was a massive stick attacthed to the player, the same colour as where it was attatched. however, it has now begun happening in other games, battle for middle earth 2 and world in conflict suffers terribley from it. as a result, i haven't even finished the dtutorial; i tried the main stroy and it was no better. at one point, all i could see was a mass of multi couloured strips covering my screen, all sticking out of an object.

i dont know weather its a hardware problem, or perhaps my drivers, but if anyone knows what to do any help would be much appreciated. ive got a screen shot of some examples below
